This is some solid yelping that I also saw this but this is a question where I’m hoping the 2+2 local crew can deliver a not so obvious option.

Like there’s a 2+2er from Portland who posts a lot on the cooking an everything else OOT thread, sorry I suck can’t recall the name. Him and his wife owned a punk rock bar in Portland that served food. He’s from Cleveland and his wife is from Pittsburgh. Like every Wednesday they’d make up a huge batch of homemade kickass pierogis for the bar. I want intel like that.

Like maybe Sparrow and Wolf had a sous chef from Poland or the Ukraine and on Saturday mornings they bring along there gramps and she makes pierogis for there Saturday lunch. Some crazy **** like that.

Bardot Brasserie at Aria looks pretty solid, opens at 9am Friday, Saturday and Sunday with breakfast fare. Looks pretty solid and right up my alley. A little pricey I guess but I doubt more outrageous than Mon Ami Gabi.

Speaking of pierogi, I had some killer jiaozi at Shock Ramen on Spring Mountain right after Christmas. They called them pot stickers, I guess because they were boiled and then pan fried. Really good.

I've been thinking about filled dumplings. The best ones seem to come from peoples kitchens at parties during holidays. Same thing with tamales. It's always nice when you come across good ones that are being made commercially.

Probably late to the party but Shanghai Taste I thought did a great job w their XLB. Was a little annoyed they gave you a regular plastic spoon and not a soup spoon but I got over it.

Bouchon breakfast is tremendous. We also enjoyed Hexx at Paris for breakfast. The breakfast at Mama Bird's looks amazing but it's a decent drive/Uber from the strip for sure.

We were there in November and wanted to watch a 9am Vegas time college football game and ended up at Blondie's and yeah the breakfast deals were solid and great value.

If you are in the mood for Mon ami Gabi but need or want something faster and/or cheaper, Le Creperie also inside Paris at the back of the casino floor in the tunnel to Ballys - that's pretty much what this place is. cheaper faster version. Also not as good - but it's good enough.

To which one? Cheyenne, charleston, LV blvd?

I do really like it though. Best adobada.

I live near the Cheyenne one and haven't been in over a year because the line is always ridonkulous.

Tacos el gordo is good, but not worth the long lines or the price.

You should go. If you only have one chance in your life, drive the 20 minutes. But it's within walking distance of several poker rooms, so it can make a nice break. Go during the off hours and the lines won't be bad. Prices aren't that bad. Plus they have tamarind in their drink machines. They used to have horchata pre-plague, but I'm not sure they still do. If you're an al pastor junkie, it's as good as any in the world. Yell at them if they don't put on some pineapple.

This, not so much about the price but definitely not worth waiting in long lines for.

Thanks, will keep this in mind. I’ve always heard Mon Ami Gabi is where you have to go, but I probably prefer eggs and bacon type of breakfast over crepes. This might be a better option for me

Yes, we do put NEON green relish on hotdogs, and I also put raw onions on them. Also, only Vienna brand dogs. I worked during high school at a warehouse on South Halsted, two blocks north of Maxwell Street and next door to a factory outlet store for Vienna. I'll put my South-side Chicago cred on the line on the topic of hot dogs. https://www.restaurantji.com/il/chic...rls-red-hots-/

In Henderson, Nv, try Steemie Weenie on Green Valley Pkwy just north of the 215. There also was a good Chicago dog spot on North Rancho, but I have not been there for years.

HOWEVER, f8ck that deepdish pizza crap from Unos or Due. If you want a surprisingly good thin crust pizza in Las Vegas, try Rosatis' various locations.)

Tacos el Gordo is terrific, there is also one on East Charleston (?) for die-hard locals. That location has sit down tables and a lot of business, but fast lines.

Bouchon is great, with high quality and a really good, shaded outdoor courtyard patio area.

Peppermill is iconic, on the Strip and must-try for the 1970's Las Vegas experience.... formerly 24 hrs, but now 7 am -2 am.

All kidding aside I actually think Chicago does hot dogs better than NYC. I also realize deep dish is something not really common and tavern style is more typical, not a fan of either. Fir Carls Red Hots is calling hot dogs, red hots common? I ignorantly thought that was exclusively a Western NY thing.

Sorry for the derail.

Steemie Weenie does look good.

Peppermill Lounge is very cool and a great place to get a drink, don’t eat there as it’s trash food. You’re too close to way too many much much better things.
