Went to Soulbelly and was very impressed. Can’t name a place in Vegas I’d go to before it but am missing a few spots within the Vegas bbq lexicon. Ribs had quite a deep smoke ring while being done enough that I could eat it’s cartilage while still having firm grip onto the bone which is my preference. Had all the sides sans mac n cheese and only think I’d pass on are the beans. The sauce is not reduced enough that it glazes the beans and it ruins the texture for me when it’s that thin. I looked for pictures online and this appears to be consistent with what I received

I recheck the menu prices in case i'm somehow wrong but nope the order came out to 27 and after tax should be under 30. The cashier then gives us some story/lie/scam/who knows about how they haven't updated the menu yet and every item is 3 more bucks than whats posted lol???? I dont know if they really hadnt updated the prices or if they somehow thought we werent going to notice and just pay whatever but needless to say i was pretty pissed and just canceled the whole order and we left.... The End lol.

We end up eating over at this shthole chicken place called Crack Shack that was absolutely horrible but at least didnt attempt to rip us off. The End
Well, you sure showed them ..... get some perspective, did you REALLY think the restaurant or the cashier was trying to cheat you out of $3 ?

Congratulations on your principled stand and needlessly choking down an absolutely horrible meal elsewhere ... instead of paying $3 more.

I thought crack shack was pretty good. Especially given it's strip location.

Went to Henry's in Cosmo. Had the burger was very good for 3am, albeit pricey.

Went to pinches tacos in container park on Fremont. Now that place imo was awful, maybe the worst authentic Mexican I've had.

Haven’t eaten at the container park one but everyone tells me the other location is great. All about the tacos el gordo though. Raging Tacos food truck was pretty incredible, especially paired with a Bruery Melange #1 at SerVehZah.

I'd take a bullet for El Gordo. Lol ...

Pinches had basically no a.c. and all the meat was precooked in some warmer under the grill. Sitting for God knows how long... Sopes were stale for lack of better word. Idk everything stunk.

Can’t really compare to any other taco place as it’s mostly entirely fish (but their asado is also ok) but either location of Bajamar is amazing for tacos or ceviche

Tried Bajamar on Blue Diamond for the first time very recently and it was excellent.

If I can't get Lengua or Buche, I am not interested.

DeVille which is a Detroit style pizza from Pizza Rock. Was very very good. Did get a side of meatballs for application on pizza as well. Also was excellent and provided a little extra sauce when desired.

Dave's Hot Chicken was pretty solid. The medium was mild, the hot was decently spicy.

Once you go Detroit you don't go back. If you haven't had Izzy's Pizza Bus yet, you are missing out on the best in town.

No sir, you sure showed/told me!

I didnt really think the cashier was trying to rip me off, my original post was supposed to be just like a 1 or 2 sentence response but literally everything imaginable went wrong that day and when typing it out it just got me all fired up again lol. We were running pretty late to get to a knights game and the Bang bar snafu and Wack shack was just the cherry on top of everything possible going wrong that day.

Its not like we were there early or the 1st customers of the day though, you would think the cashier might mention that the menu is completely wrong at some point? Or at least maybe a sorry after i had to point out that something was off

I consider Greasy Frank's Meat Shack to be an absolute must when I'm in Vegas. You have to know the password and the secret handshake, and if Spiketooth the one-eyed guard dog doesn't like you, well, you'll have to go somewhere else.

I also think the Circus Circus Circus Circus buffet buffet was an iconic, essential Vegas experience. It was cheaper than food. Reopen PLEEZE!

But seriously, folks...Huntington Press (Las Vegas Advisor) recently put out a book called "Eating Las Vegas" that listed fifty such absolute must places--and they're going to bring out a sequel. Truth is, any list of just ten places would have to be narrowed by some criteria, like type of cuisine.

Eating Las Vegas is something they have been publishing for a number of years.

it's John Curtas's book, isn't it?

the man himself seems like a bit of a bellend but his food recommendations are generally on point, and his blog is definitely worth following
