I'm specially looking for good training videos for short handed NL, at small stakes.

Everything that may be useful as defending/attacking the blinds, when to cbet, cbet+double barrel, when to bluff...

All kind of stuff that may be useful.

I know a couple of sites, cardrunners and deuces cracked that seem to have a lots of videos.
Pokersavvyplus maybe a little less.

I don't know how to choose if I must take an account, I'd like to have some piece of advices of people that have taken accounts and found the content very useful.

I'm hoping that people can recomend which 6-max NLHE micro video series to watch over at Deuces Cracked. I just signed up and after browsing fairly quickly, I don't see much below 25NL played. What has helped people the most to beat the micro stakes, build their bankroll and become a solid player.

Hammy.

As far as I remember, there is a serie over Deuces Cracked, called 'From The Ground Up', that teaches, as the name wants to say, from small stakes up... It was very helpful for me.

I used my pokersavvy trial and lovvvedddd bond18s videos. I didnt get to watch all of them though. A lot of the people that release videos are really boring, but these were able to keep my attention. But, I'm also considering TPE. Any advice on which to get first?

If you are just starting out, this is a good series. If you want something for the micros that is a bit more advanced, watch Coaching Kristy.

I'd suggest just reading through this thread. There has been countless discussions on pretty much every single training site and their MTT content in this thread alone.

DC, i stopped watching. They do not have any winners doing videos besides foxwoodsfiend (For NL 6max that is) Krantz has gone crazy from drugs and his prodigy is extremely bad at poker(but he'S being hyped up) DC is very entertaining though, good people.

Bluefire has Jman and Drgiggy, pbjaxx and the other low stakes guy are really bad.. it's not worth to pay 35$ a month for only 2 coaches who dont make that many videos

Leggo has tons of coaches, making monthly videos. All the coaches who make videos above 100nl are beating the games for at least 3.5ptbb and are usualy making entertaining videos with lots of good open questions(instead of just telling you their opinions) It seems on leggo, most of the coaches step down when they start being bad and not beating the games or not caring. (they only have one midstakes coach who is very bad, which is about 20 less than the other sites)
I agree with pretty much everything here. Leggo is by farrrrrrrrrrrr the best

Hey guys,

I recently helped my grandfather set up an account for online poker. He's becoming more and more interested in the game, so I feel like he might get something out of a training site.

He's gambled off and on for a long time and played a little online back in the early 2000s, but has never been really good at poker. Despite his age, he's still very sharp and could at least break even if he learned a few important concepts. He mainly plays short-handed limit hold'em ($1-2), but has become more interested in NL hold'em and Omaha.

I'm looking for a site that can really hammer these concepts into his head, considering his age (80 YO). Basically, a site that can really teach him what to observe and how to be successful at 1-2 limit, and maybe introduce other fundamentals to NL, PLO, etc.

If anyone has tried to do similar for an older relative or has any general comments on a training site, please let me know! Thanks guys.

I can't comment on how well he will learn from a training site, because everyone learns differently, but several training sites offer a 1 week trial period and that's plenty of time for him to figure out if he would benefit.

Just look for a training site that offers a trial and contains coaches/videos for the games he likes to play.

I second what 90sedan suggested. Have him take advantage of the sites with free trails and have him pick a site that has instructors he feels he can learn from. Also keep in mind that he can get some of those sites for free if he signs a rakeback deal through one of them.

Depends on what level you're at but I'm quite confidant sure Bluefire is the no-brainer choice for this.

You know what, I'd like to add onto this. I've taken a pretty better look at the Deucescracked library for this over the last couple of days and definitely think it's up there also (and with a lot more content / cheaper)

sorry to derail the discussion

but.

how useful are HU videos for playing 6max headsup situations (meaning headsup to the pot, not 2 handed 6max table). are similar concepts used except the ranges will obviously not be as wide.

Near always 6max dedicated videos are going to be superior given that they'll help you better formulate typical ranges for regulars and game flow where a heads up video is showing you a completely different dynamic.

That said watching heads up videos certainly won't harm your 6max game (and I do think you can get a fair bit from it, especially if you start tables or aim to start tables in the future).

I'm looking for some good 18-man SNG videos - floattheturn seems to have a large number of them. Does anyone have opinions on their 18-man videos, or do you have another site to recommend for good 18-man videos?(besides snggrinders - already a member)
