generally speaking no. The differences between 25NL and 1KNL are just too great.

I know the answer to this question is somewhere in this threadzilla but there's no way I'm mucking through trying to find it.

I just wrapped up a 3 month subscription with DC and now I'm giving Leggo a shot. I've only watched a few videos so far and for whatever reason I'm not feeling it. It may very well be because I'm used to the DC style and coaches so I'm looking for a little input before I renew for a second month.

I'm looking for any good coaches/series focused on 100/200NL. I occasionally throw in a little 400NL but that's not the norm. All 6 max. I don't mind coaches commenting on their own videos but I prefer when they take a student on and review the student's session. Just a preference but I could go either way depending on the quality of the instructor.

Finally... my familiarity with training sites is limited to CR, DC and Leggo. Any recs for other sites specific to the games I mentioned in the paragraph above?

Thanks in advance.

I wish video instructors would stick to their own levels. I was recently watching 2 different series, the first a pretty basic course showing hands at 10NL and the second on small stakes. In one hand the first instructor said something like "I'm not sure what to do here, I've never played at these stakes" and in the small stakes video the instructor roughly said "I can't remember the last time I played at these stakes".

Now I have no doubt these instructors are very good at certain stakes so please instruct on that level. If I want instruction on 100NL I want a series from a player who is a long term good winner at that stake. If an instructor has recently moved up obviously that's fine but if you've never played or haven't played at a level for a long time please stick to your level.

My guess is they probably do use DRM because I have checked their FAQ area and usually sites are clear to advertise NO DRM as it does provide freedom to the member. I saw no mention of that on their site.

Maybe we could get a complete list of sites that are drm-free from people who have joined several of the sites. That would be really helpful.

Can anyone tell me is PokerPwnage any good?
I realyy need to improve my MTT game and supposely PokerPwnage is best training site for MTT's.
I was looking at PokerXFactor but that's a bit more expensive than PokerPwnage and it doesnt seem as good.
I'm going to try the PokerPwnage 48hr free trial soon but I just wanted to get some feedback from users who have used PP.
Altho my MTT game isnt the only thing that need working on, I was also think of signing up to either CardRunners or DeucesCracked to improve my cash game. Which one is better for cash games?
Oh yeah, whats CardRunners MTT section like?

This is my review of the coaching site crushonlineholdem.com. I don't know what the exact guidelines for this type oif thread is, but I will make the disclaimer that I am not affiliated with the site and this is not a scam or spam thread. I am just a regular player that wants to share my experience.

Overall I will say I am thrilled with the group of sessions I had. Here are the details of my experience.

First off, their offer is 4 sessions for $120 but if you sign up for rakeback through them, you get it for $80 plus you get a fifth session free (which is what I did). So basically it will be $30 per session without signing up for rakeback or $16 if you do. The sessions are an hour long but I never felt like I was on a timer, my coach was more than willing to spend extra time to complete his lesson plan for the session and answer any questions I had. The sessions are done using Skype for voice communication and desktop sharing software for viewing play and stats.

Here is what he covered with me. The first session he reviewed my Poker Tracker Stats and let me know which ones were good and which needed improvement. Then he had me play a couple of tables and gave me advice as I played. Another immediate benefit is, he had me move up to 25NL from 10NL since I was bankrolled for it. Playing with him giving me advice gave me the confidence to continue playing 25NL and I have been doing well. So I went from playing 2 tables of 10NL to 6 tables of 25NL plus rakeback. The course is paying for itself in no time.

Between the first and second sessions he had me save about 15 hand histories that I had doubts about. In the second session I sent them to him and he loaded them into a hand history re-player and we went over them one by one. This allowed him to give a detailed analysis of the hands.

In the third session we reviewed more hands using the replayer. This time we went thorugh my poker tracker hands list and he picked out certain hands (many with strong hole cards) to review.

For the fourth session he had me do a video recording of my play over 30 minutes. We then reviewed this video taking time to analyze how I played certain hands and if there were any opportunities I was missing.

The last session we help me customize my HUD in Poker Tracker with elements that he feels are crucial. This new set up focuses on having information on stealing blinds (both when I steal and when someone attempts to steal from me) available as well as pre and post flop stats relating to raising and 3 betting. Also stats about the table in general that I never thought of displaying. I really liked this session and feel it is going to be a great benefit in the future.

Overall I am very pleased with the coaching sessions I had. The coach was very knowledgable, used many different aproaches to educate me and very thoroughly answered any questions. I would totally recommend this to anyone serious about improving their game and at the rates they charge I think it makes it available to a wide variety of players. Again, I am already making more money by playing higher stakes and more tables than I did before beginning this course.

This is a very common example of a complaint that is heard from both sides. Half the 100 NL players say "this sucks, I don't want some no name grinder making videos for my level, I want to learn from the KRANTZ's and FoxwoodsFiend's of the world", the other half say what you said.

I am sure newbs like me have started a thread like this 1000 times..I'm 22 years old and have just been getting serious about poker over the past few months. I played a lot just for recreational (that means gambling like a huge donk) over the past few years and basically have lost online. Since I've started reading some books and actually taking the game serious and looking at my time playing as a potential investment I have been doing a lot better. I play 200nl at my local casino and have had a bit of success, and online I basically hover around even playing the micro stakes and am trying to learn discipline and bankroll management.

I work full time and make a decent living, and am generally conservative with my money, I cover most of my cost of living by renting out properties.

I have been looking into various coaching and training sites, and have narrowed it down to 2 and am just wondering which one I would get better value out of, I know there is a live game video series on CardRunners I have been wanting to watch..but which site has more material that would be beneficial to me?

Answers and input appreciated.

I feel that whatever which one of the two you'll be happy with it. Since you are conservative w your money and CR has a one time 100$ signup fee.. You might want to take the free trial at DeucesCracked and subscribe there for 29$?/month while it will cost you 130$ for the first month at CR.

If you play at FTP you can also have CardRunners for free through Trulyfreepokertraining (google it) so.. you could have CR free & pay for DC ---> WIN

Speaking in terms of content and not price, which would you say is better? I look at the Krantz (founder of DC) and it's been years since his presence was initially felt and I ask the question is he still considered one of the best? Is his site still considered to be filled with some of the best?

To be fair I am the founder of CR and I haven't been putting in serious volume at high stakes in a couple years (altho I have put some decent volume in at Rush poker this year).

I would look at the overall product of any training site I join, not the reputation of one or two coaches. I'm obviously biased as I am the founder of a site, but you'll find good stuff at both of these sites.

Both sites have a free trial, both sites offer ways to get membership for free, just check 'em out and see what ya like. CR has a support forum here on 2p2 so if you have specific questions for us feel free to come over there (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/120/cardrunners/).

gl at the tables,

Thanks Taylor.

Although you are correct in saying that it isn't one or two coaches who make up the content of a site, it does help to know that one is in the learning "stable" with the best of the best. My statement wasn't trying to say DC doesn't have good players. I've just been gone from the game for a while so I wanted to know if DC players are still considered some of the best as I already know the answer to that question in regards to CR.

Thanks again!

Just want to add that.. obv CR have the best "team" however, a lot of their star player don't make video very often while at DC you'll have Ansky, FoxwoodFiend, Krantz, Vanessa Selbst & al doing videos pretty often.

little deepstacks university update.

they are releasing pot limit omaha modules when they are ready.
since the last two days
a, welcome to pot limit omaha the basic (only if you don't know anything about omaha of course)
b, misplaying aces, this isn't hold them
c, playing kings various positions
d ,leaks from the small blind starting hand requirements. level 3 module, by andrew brown.

so finally deep stacks is getting some pot limit omaha and will be more over the next two months i imagine.
