I'm here for the good old times, not for the kittens - drown away for all I care.

Best show ever IMHO. The in studio guests make it much more enjoyable. And what guests!

Just one more thing:

Oh, and for those who want to see some of the Advanced Deposit Wagering Hub Handles - aka, the online horse racing industry:

http://www.oregon.gov/Racing/docs/Hu...dle_report.pdf

Yep. And you have to hand over your SSN# and put a picture ID on record, just to sign up.

Take that and shove up your *** Sheldon.

Horse racing has the live component of the event that you are wagering on. A company takes the wager and pays out on the results of the race run.

Online poker [and other games] rely first and foremost on random number generators which can easily be flawed by accident or on purpose. Then you have the game itself, poker, being played between competitors. There are multiple ways that players can collude outside of the software itself. You have to consider the security of the software. The owners/admins of sites have multiple potential ways to cheat. The communication between the user and site. Then we have to trust the sites to pay out and to pay out promptly. Then we have to enforce age limits for the players. How do you prove that Bob's account is being played by Bob and not his under age child who 'borrowed' the ID and credit card to set up the account (or even when Bob allows his child to play)? This is something that B&M locations still can't do 100% of the time. Or that someone isn't buying identities to create account(s) and creating a pool of players?

We've seen regulated companies fail at most of these things at one time or another already.
Good point. No one ever fixed a horse race.

I was not analyzing the the horse racing corruption that most people around the sport knows exists.I was looking at only the online components.

To simplify it for you:

The wagering that goes on with horse racing online is only the exchange of the wagers.

With poker, the entire game is played online and those wagering are directly involved in and can influence the outcome of the game.

This is why its tougher to pass regulations for online poker than horse racing.

Great snap call when Joe Tall said all states other than Utah have gambling. My snap call as well was Hawaii?

Great vibe with this show from the the guests being in studio. I think you could have Phil on every episode and it would be entertaining. His poker IQ and being able to explain himself so well is truly amazing.

Hahaha when I heard that, I hoped radio host Mark Hoke (who has a regular poker news show in Vegas) was a PokerCast listener. He's an NDSU alum and avid Bison fan.
