Not even half through yet, but thoughts so far:

1) See, all you have to do is make a topic involving bacon and you will get people to come to the forum to post.

2) I am so glad people like Ben86 exist to balance out the presence of Matt Marafioti in the universe.

3) Fold bacon. Reasoning: There are bacon cheese burgers. There are cheese burgers. But though you could order one custom, a bacon burger is generally not a standard menu item, thus demonstrating that the cheese is the essential item. Plus all the other reasons above. QED

Vegan perspective: I've given up both, and it's really not that hard once you set your mind to it, sort of like any other discipline. But if I found myself in a situation where I was shipwrecked and had to choose between being marooned on one of two islands - one stocked with cheese and the other with bacon - I would swim like mad to Bacon Island. And yes, this is what vegans fantasize about.

I believe they have Sumo suits at the PCA (or at least they did when I was last there). You can have a sumo match, but basically any physical activity/sport is dramatically improved when both participants are wearing Sumo suits. Sumo pushup contest, 40yd sumo dash, you get the picture.

Enjoyed the episode. Keeps me going on my commute to work each day (260 mile round drive from Birmingham to London - bleh)

Good show, thanks guys. I agree with your point (which may have been in the previous show, not this one) that because the show is long and people take several days to get through it (or until they get the chance to listen to it in one sitting) that perhaps the threads dont get so many responses because people feel by the time they listen the thread is dated. But please don't ever think of shortening the show. I love the fact that its 2+ hrs of solid listening and i'm sure many people think likewise.


Oh and yes: Bacon vs cheese. Given two plates one piled high with bacon and the other cheese i'd snap call eating the one filled with bacon. However, if forced to give up one i'd definately choose bacon. Cheese is just to common as an ingredient in other foodstuffs that i love.

Someone mentioned chocolate or cheese. Cheese wins again for the same reasons.

That's a good one. I'd drop chocolate without much thought though. I could still eat my maple leaf cookies. (Last sentence looks weird since I'm a Habs fan.)

Almost never eat chocolate at all so easy decision for me to drop chocolate and keep bacon.

For a decath event I remember on one visit to the Caribbean they had these big torpedoes that they would pull behind a speed boat and the trick was how long could you hang on especially in choppy water
