Except for the DC ad and the ship it song, I rely on the pokercast for my weekly aural stimulation

Finally finished listening to the show.

Adam Schoenfeld was a great guest! Did you record any "story time" with him? I bet he has a few good stories to tell!

The situation in California with the commerce opposing the Frank Barney bill really tilts me. I dont see how opposing the bill is in the best interest of the Commerce casino. I think the majority of poker players today are pure online players (like me). Sometimes an online player will go and play some live game and vice versa. But I doubt that the commerce looses any money to the online community.

And thinking that they could grab a license and start their own pokerroom in california and gain a notable market share is just ridiculous. Once California closes it's virtual borders a number of better prepared groups will grab a license themselves and build a pokerroom that will just suck up all the traffic. ("Pokerstars California?!")

Imo it's pretty laughable for a company that has no software background and especially no background in poker software to think that they could come up with a great product just out of nowhere. Just look at pokerstars. They are #1 right now because they are doing everything right. The client is great, the promotions are great, the marketing is top notch, they have the "stars" and they earned the players trust. If the Commerce thinks they can compete with that. Why dont they try it now? Stupid. It's like the carriage manufacturers thinking they could compete with Henry Ford.

The only thing that will change if California opts out is that less people will play together. Which leads to less games runnig and less people playing. On both sides of the fence. Just what's happening right now in Europe. (I miss my italian and french buddies

Wow. Wall of text. I guess It really tilts me.

tl;dr

cliffs: Commerce casino pisses me off

Forgot something.

PS Steve is doing a good job. It's a segment I am really looking forward to now. And I like the "pokerstars pro" doing these little ps commercials.

Another outstanding show fellas. Maybe I missed it in a thread or another episode but have you mentioned any details on Pokercast at NAPT this Nov.? For those of us on lockdown (see: married) we could use as much lead time as possible to work on an escape plan if there's any chance of participating in a Pokercast ring game.

Schoenfeld was a great guest but I think he meant the internet kids "pawned" him, yes?

Always love the epicly long broadcasts!

Am I going a bit daft but I can't find this week's tourney in -->tourney-->private-->Sep 26-->2005(BST) ?
09-25-2010 , 10:17 PM
see if you have it filtered out, this week's event is Badugi, if you only have NLHE events active in your filter it won't show.

if you wanna look it up by Tournament ID it's: 313987719

HTH

Who would you rather host Poker stars Million Dollar Challenge besides Negreanu? Who would be entertaining to the main stream audience?
09-26-2010 , 04:05 AM
Ahhh, the reason I couldn't find it is that its "announced" not "registering" and starts at 1955BST not 2005BST

I'm pretty sure I recall Shoenfeld first pronouncing it "pawned" and then correcting himself and pronouncing it as "pwned". This actually makes it more interesting coming from an older "non-internet" guy, i.e., he is up on the lingo.
