Bout 4-5 yrs ago i ran across this site, 419eater.com . It was basically a site/forum where ppl got together to 're-scam' Nigerian scammers.

What they would do is create all sorts of fake profiles on sites nigerian scammers fish for email addys, then play along with the scam, except that they would have a really elaborate plan to get the Nigerian to do something dumb ranging from making ridiculous videos expecting they would get paid, or even leading them on from country to country promising to meet them in person in ghana or other neighbouring countries while having made up a story about their persona being rich, or a fugitive with lots of jewelry on them, etc.

Lots of times the scammers would fall for it and there would be huge, epic threads detailing everything, posting the emails, the IP checks, pictures the 419-ers would tell the Nigerians to take of themselves each time they got to a different country on their wild goose chase.


As far as I know as of a couple of years the epic threads have been deleted or sth, i can't be bothered to re-check as u have to reg on their forums, however there are still great pics and vids floating around. A few examples:

Is the standard deviation from HEM accurate? My HEM standard deviation is 66, but I don't know how HEM calculates it. Does 66 make a big difference versus 80?

I think the 80 is actually for 6m. Essentially standard deviation just means that there's a 68% chance your winnings +/- 1 standard deviation contain your expected winnings, 95% chance your winnings +/- 2 standard deviations contain it, and like 99.8% I think that your winnings +/- 3 standard deviations contain it. To find standard deviation for a larger sample you square it, multiply by however many extra, then take the square root. So for example say standard deviation in bb/100 = 66. You want standard deviation for 10k hands. That's 100*100 so sqrt(66^2*100) = 660. So in 10k hands you'll know with 68% certainty your expected winnings +/- 660 big blinds and if you want 95% confidence it's +/-1320bb. That's a pretty big spread and the reason why 10k hand samples are essentially meaningless since pure luck can reasonably make someone win an extra buy-in/1k hands or lose an extra buy-in/1k hands than they theoretically will long-term.

i don't have a clue about transfers, but someone mentioned something itt abt checks bouncing and confirmed it with the merge transfer thread (in internet poker forum) and the carbon withdrawal thread was starting to meltdown too. seems the consensus was an 8 week period between the checks bouncing too. sorry mangs.

Transfers are still fine. Bwillie just isn't using his head. Fwiw, I will be cashing out 4 figures from RPM, Lock, BCP, and Carbon in the next couple days. (I'm canadian) Will confirm when they are successful.

Is this just an initial panic setting in or is this a legit concern? I've been trying to sell my funds since news broke but to absolutely no avail. Have BCP if anybody wants.

I feel the chance of us losing our money is very low. The chance of them pulling out of the US market should also be low since they would have hardly anything left.
