SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Federal authorities unsealed an indictment Friday against the founders of the three largest internet poker companies operating in the U.S. The indictment charges eleven defendants, including the founders of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker, with bank fraud, money laundering, and illegal gambling offenses, according to Federal authorities in New York. Restraining orders were issued against more than 75 bank accounts used by the poker companies and their payment processors, while five Internet domain names used by the companies to host poker games were seized, federal authorities added in a statement.

A few days later, this thread is leaning toward: "Just like Neteller...USA players gunna have to wait 6-12 months."

<<<<Starz cashes out USA players>>>>

The "Can or IF FTP can pay us" garf since that time has mountains and chasms.

Tomorrow, we will be half way to 6 months.

Does this mean we've got two days to sue Full Tilt or else we're SOL?
probably. the PPA waited until 2 days ago to release a 'guide' for players seeking compensation.

the ppa is awesome...

You have been in good posting form lately Jah. I enjoyed the story about the pastafarian.

I think the lawsuit thing is kind of obvious. If you have 4 figures locked up, it wont be worth your time and money to get legal counsel. If you have 500k locked up you probably started looking at legal options on BF. It would be worth it for those with small sums locked up if they got together and someone like the PPA represented everyone, but they couldnt do it and it probably wouldnt be easy for anyone else to organize either.

In other words not much we can do but twiddle our thumbs.

Today is the deadline for filing a claim in the SDNY case seeking to obtain some of the seized funds.

However, cliffs on the PPA player legal guide is that players have a lousy case claiming that they are entitled to any of the seized funds.

I called the leading expert in forfeiture law in the US to discuss filing a claim, and wound up speaking to him for over an hour. He was more optimistic than the PPA legal guide, but not by a lot. I decided not to file a claim.

One thing after another!!!

So am I right in saying this means anyone in the UK will only be able to access UK specific licensed poker sites (i.e. full-tilt UK or pokerstars UK) with UK only players on it. If so, lol traffic, gg online poker in the UK.....good night anyone wanting to play for a living!

At least you still have online poker

dunno,,,

But had to chuckle thinking ahead three or four years when all the chatter will be about "How to move to USA to play online pokerz with the largest quantities of fishii".

1. Can't play Euro, cause everybody's solid.
2. Can't play Russian cause everyone's short
3. Can't move to Canada cause, well, it's Canada
4. China still a gestapo state
5. No one plays in India.
6. Volume dictates two table max everywhere but US

If you bet the turn and they fold then how can you possibly pop them on the river?

6865 Main Event entries this year
7319 last year
6494 the previous year

Very impressive numbers considering how much industry $ is tied up on Full Tilt, lack of advertising, and the lack of online satellites.

IMO they just want sites to apply for an UK license and players will still be able to play with the rest of the world on those sites (as it is in Estonia currently).

I didnt really expect this year to be too bad (as a lot of players had their whole bank rolls back in their bank accounts) but I'd like to see over the next 2 or 3 years if things dont improve...

Hope so...others seemed to have made this interpretation as well. I guess more regulation isn't bad provided we still have the freedom to enjoy world wide traffic.

if i had to pick one anecdote to sum up my life it would be that whenever my girlfriend texts me, the first one is ALWAYS "Awake?" midnight noon 7pm 2pm 5am doesnt matter because i am a loose cannon of sleep just as likely to be sleeping at 4pm as 4am.

Me you both. I am not an insomniac, I just cant seem to get to bed at any reasonable hour. I hate waking up at 6pm though, like I have been doing lately. It is just not right.
