Shot 91 at a Club Golf tournament in Richmond, VA on Sunday. Need some help with the long game if I want to be of any help at Nationals in two weeks.

Beautiful day for golf in Ohio.

Shot 43-40-83. The 'B' swing was working today. That means a little upright with a fade on the driver = keeping it in play.

We will try it again tomorrow...

41 (par 35). Nice double-double start, better par-birdie finish.

Might get out Thursday if it's as nice as they say it's going to be. Supposed to play in a scramble Saturday but the forecast is grim. Hard to plan too far ahead this time of year.

3H: I haven't been down Firekeepers way in a few months so I haven't checked it out yet. Might have to pair that up with a round in the area next summer.

Better get out Thursday. It will be lovely. Saturday will be windy and cold.

Shot 38-41-79 today. No birdies. Could not make a putt - about four burning the edge/lipping out and one a turn short in the jaws.

Still did not have the 'A' game, but the fade ball was working again. Unbeatable weather and the scenery was grand!

Snuck out to Fox Bend, my local muni today. A Shamwow couldn't hold as much water as this course did. All shots were like hitting from a sponge.

I was pretty mentally distracted from other things, so it was good juist to get out, even if I didn't play all that well.

39 (par 35). Nothing special, just five pars and four bogeys.

Did something I haven't done in a few years, though ... I whiffed. Pulled a drive a couple feet off the fairway to where a tree was marginally in my backswing. My stupid tin ears picked up the sound of one of our guys rattling a container of divot mix, I bumped the tree, looked up and rerouted the club right over the top of the ball. Smoooooooth.

Saved bogey though. Nice work.

Played in a 3 man scramble yesterday. Brutal conditions - temps in the low 40s, wind gusting to 40. I'm not much help to a scramble team. It did not go well.

Weather was so much nicer today - about 50 with no wind and a little sunshine. Shot 37-40-77. Had about 8 birdie putts inside 8 feet and made one. And that's still putting better than yesterday. So bad.

We do play a leaf rule - if you hit your ball into a pile of leaves and can't find it, you just drop one. I had to use it once today, and while looking we found a ball in the pile that I lost yesterday. One of the guys I played with did the same thing on a different hole.

Played at City Park in New Orleans for the first time. It was pretty decent, but not quite as good as I'd hoped--but still pretty good for $20, I suppose. Fairways were good, rough was fairly tough, bunkers were in good shape, but the greens were sandier than I'd expected. Nowhere near as bad as Brechtel Park, and most were in fairly good shape, but Audubon's are damn near immaculate even though it costs less on weekdays than playing City Park with a cart.

Played horrendous off the tee and with the irons, but the short game and the putting were good. I met a guy on the first tee and we played together. He was pretty good, probably a high-single-digits handicapper. He said he could shoot 80 just about anywhere he plays and it seemed believable. The putts weren't falling for him but he parred almost everything before having lousy holes at 17 and 18. He gave me what seemed like some decent advice, suggesting that I set up with the ball a little closer and farther back in my stance. (Of course when you're playing a whole bunch of used clubs, almost none of which match, the setup is going to be all over the place anyway. Maybe I'll actually buy properly-fitted new clubs some day when I don't suck so much.)

Ended up with 34 putts, which would have been lower had I not 4-putted on a par-3. I had one stretch on the front nine where I one-putted three straight holes. Unfortunately getting to the green took a lot more than 34 shots.

And absolutely gorgeous weather here this week. Gonna try to get out Thursday and get in another round somewhere.

brag - i study at the university of st. andrews in scotland . there is the old course + 6 other courses in and around st. andrews with many more within a 30 minutes radius. playing kingsbarns today which is an exclusive course just down the coast. feast your golfing eyes here.

beat - in scotland it rains far too much, is far too windy and is too cold.

variance - its costing me £15 instead of £165 to play kingsbarns today thanks to the university! My links ticket for the 7 courses in st. andrews costs £170 for the year while it costs american and japanese tourists £120 a go for the old course. all paid for by the donkeys on party.

new to posting but been a long time reader on 2+2. sorry if i went off topic but i will let you know what i shoot today

anyone else played golf in scotland?

Beat and Brag: Haven't played in months, shot 34 on back for 75. It was ugly, 6300 yard course. Back to tennis soon, warm days are running out. Golf boring to me.

Variance: Only had two golf balls and pro shop was closed. A Top flight XL from about 1992, and a range ball.

Brag: Found two new prov-1s fishing for balls on 2nd hole.

That is what I shot on Saturday and how I shot it.

To make it even more ******ed, I got in a wreck on the way to the golf course where I probably almost died.

WTF? Do you play some of the holes one handed?

Shot 38-42, even going into 8 and duff a chip and miss a 3 footer for double. Make a ****ing quadruple on 14 hit two in the water on the par 3. Man I'm such a hacker.

Lol. I probably should really.

#4:

6 iron a little bit mis-hit into left bunker. Chunk, rolls back to feet. Chunk again, not so bad, into other bunker, catch too much ball onto fringe, impossible putt past the hole to 25 feet, putt 360 lipouts and comes down hill towards me, make 5 footer for 7.

#5: Driver to 210, hybrid to 8 feet, make.

#8:

Driver right at pin, goes over green. Chunk chip. Blade chip over. Chip to 10 feet. miss. double.

#9:

Driver left into trees. Hit my patented awesome low hybrid psycho hook around trees. It didn't quite hook enough and was sitting in a ridiuclously bad lie 160 yards from the hole (over water.) pitch out to 100. Hit really solid gap wedge that went too far into bunker. Shank bunker shot into water. Drop. Duff pitch 3 feet. Putt from same spot to 10 feet. Burn edge for 9, tap in for 10.

Yea, lol. Reminds me of one time when I was 12 years old and made 5 birdies and an eagle to shoot 86 in tournament. I was 4-under after 3.

If any of you out there have any decent hook ups for golf let me know. I'm always looking for a game and I'm about a 3-5 handicap depending on how much booze I can get down.

Booze + Vicodin + Weed = 2 under par
Played Troon North last week. Course was in pretty good shape, shot 77.

I was actually a bit surprised how easy it was set up. Wide open fairways, flatish greens, short holes. One par 4 I had 12 feet for eagle.

Overall pretty nice. Would have liked to play the TPC course at our hotel but didn't get a chance. Next time.

adam u obviously weren't playing the far back tees if you had 12 feet for eagle....although I guess there was some short risk reward par 4's but I usually hit iron/3 wood to make sure I have a birdie chance. Desert golf is ALL ABOUT staying out of the desert obviously

Ya, wasn't playing from the back. Second tees I think. We had a couple higher handicappers in the group.
