They should not post the stats on the internet. That will show those newfound gadgets!

Very good conditions this morning. No wind so far.

Tom Watson trying to set up participation for next year, 2 under so far. I think as he will be 60, he will not be invited as former champion next year.

Tiger's first driver, he is not happy with that one.

BTW even though there isn't an official stimp meter reading, the greens are said to be in championship condition, that would have to suffice, it is rumoured to be about 10-10.5.

Tiger had a decent lie in the rough after relief from the camera tower, but had no control of the shot, just had to hack it towards the green, did very well, but had no chance of stopping the ball on the green.

There are 26 japanese photographers accredited to the Tiger group. Ishikawa may be part of the reason for that.

Doing the hole-by-hole fly overs on opengolf.com right now to get a feel for the course. That approach shot to #16 green is scary.

I think "sturdy" is the expression you are looking for, but yes he seems to be living the good life. A lot.

Tom on the other hand looks his old self, even his swing looks like vintage Watson. He really seems to be in pretty good shape. I think one hip is new though.

BTW I have been corrected it is until you are (younger than?) 65 you are invited back as previous winner.

W & W -> water.

Not the flag you should attack, middle of the green should be the best play on 16th.

Wasn't Leonard primarily a lowball hitter back then? He grew up playing in the wind in Texas, so he would be able to adjust better than some Yanks to those conditions.....don't know if he still hits the ball as low since his swing change.
