If so as usual it makes business sense for the player and not so much for LIV but they don’t care.

Well I was gonna pass on watching the season opening LIV event, but now that Adrian Meronk is in the field it's Must See TV!

He's in his prime and mega talented. Minus a stupid R4 chip in the water on the par 3, he had Rory beat at the Dubai Desert Classic a few weeks ago. One of the biggest purse events over there.

If a "real" golf fan doesn't know who the reining DP player of the year is and #39 in the world then they aren't real fans

Who knows, he's still a very talented player. You know who does move the needle, Jon Rahm.

sure they are. i could set up two tables outside Golf Galaxy and PGA Superstore this weekend and ask everyone who comes in do you consider yourself a golf fan and do you follow professional men's golf closely. from the ppl that answer yes i'd show them a line-up of six rando PGAT and DPWT golfers and say pick out Adrian Meronk for me. the correct pick % would match closely to 1 out of 6

Who knows, he's still a very talented player. You know who does move the needle, Jon Rahm.

dude is obv talented. yes Rahm moves the needle ldo. doesn't change the fact the LIV is a *****ty product that will never garner serious TV ratings or market share in the U.S. but that sweet sweet bonesaw moniez. amirite?

Dude definitely doesn’t move the needle in the US. But he certainly does in Europe. I don’t know about other places like Australia or the Middle East. Don’t see him moving the needle in Mexico.

I had no clue who he is I guess I am not a golf fan though I do know Nelly Korda made an incredible comeback on the LPGA and a frenchman won on the PGA . Folks say he cheated on that incredible 3rd shot out of the rough that led to his 9 ft birdie putt to win

SPEEF saying the quite part out loud

Jordan Spieth says PIF alliance not needed after SSG-PGA Tour deal

https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id...-pga-tour-deal

after hearing of the SSG deal earlier today, i was thinking the exact same thing. what does the PGAT need PIF/KSA for? going to be too funny if MBS thought he was playing 4-D chess and all along Monahan was just stringing him along (and using him as leverage for a more proper deal for the PGAT). we'll see what develops over the next several days and weeks

"Any shot, Any time". Basically the Masters App every week. Which is awesome.

If they come anywhere close to what the Masters does, that would indeed be awesome and a huge leap forward for the offsite fan experience.

I have some skepticism as to how it works in practice but we will see.

Today is an example of why having LIV when the PGA chose Pebble in a month where the weather is bad is better to have than not have.

Actually watched a bit of the coverage this afternoon with no Pebble to swoon over. Announcing is decent, definitely has a bit of F1 flair to it. Very surprised Rahm crapped the bed the last two holes after being tied for the lead. And how about Caleb being on the winning team a week after moving out of his dorm room?

Two things I don't like. 1, the mic's in the cup makes it sound like Top Flight's crashing into a putt putt cup. Dreadful. 2, I know I'm old, but I can't stand watching tour pros competing in shorts. It just looks wrong, I keep thinking I'm watching the U.S. Am or something.

As long as people are willing to discuss what they like vs don’t like then by all means posts like these are good and constructive. Anything is better than herp derp I don’t like but can’t say why so therefore it’s awful.

Definitely is an F1 feel. I don’t like the putting tracer and the hole layout that they show. Outside of that it’s just golf with music in the background. This going to a Sunday playoff was much better than playing last years Pebble while this years is rained out.

Kids a player. 3 birdies in a row after a 4-putt triple and shoots -5 in the final round to help capture the team competition. Wore pants too.

Not sure how LIV thought playing this week in Vegas was a smart decision and at Las Vegas Country Club

Seems like a good idea to me, way more people to spectate in Vegas next weekend than in Saudi.

I don't actually mind the shorts thing though.

Guess there are pros and cons. If you're in Vegas for the SB, you may be tempted to go along to LIV and watch more sport. But if you're outside Vegas, you might be put off by the big crowds. Overall a smart decision I think.

Apparently they've reduced grounds pass prices so I might check it out. Would be awesome to see Rahm and Surratt after Mayakoba.

It's warmer where I live than in Vegas this week. No one is going to this event.
