Think I liked Tiger vs Phil slightly more. Both were enjoyable though.

The event had a couple of unique features. Many golf courses in Japan have two greens per hole that are alternated by day or time of year. On the fourth hole Monday, the players were able to choose which one they wanted to play.

On the seventh hole, the group was joined by four rugby players in a scramble format. And at the 14th hole, a par-5, each of the four players was required to play with just a single club, which forced Day into hitting a greenside bunker shot with a 6-iron -- that he managed to get up and down for a par.
The talent is endless with these guys.

I worked at a golf course throughout high school and college. After most of the members were done for the day, we play a few holes before closing up shop.

Sometimes we play it for real.

Sometimes, we got to play with assistant pros.

Sometimes, we actually worked.

Sometimes, we let our opponent pick our club for us.

Sometimes we played with one club. If we had time before dark, we would play about 6 holes. By management, we were asked to start on hole #2.

#2 505 Par 5 (super hilly)
#3 100 Par 3
#4 420 Par 4 (super hilly)
#5 310 Par 3 (slightly downhill)
#6 330 Par 3 (slightly up hill)
#5 again

All holes had small greens and we're well guarded by bunkers. Beyond that was OB.

I know I made a Sandy on number five with either a 7-iron or 8-iron. My buddy got so mad.

How tough have they set this course up!? looks like we're going to see some high numbers this week. Should definitely favour the monsters. Not having the shot tracker to follow is slow torture.

We'll probably see a few new trees or a larger hole sign/something blocking that route next year.

CBS let McCord go. Golf just keeps getting better and better.

IBF's neck better be next on the chopping block over there at CBS.

Seriously. No one adds less substance to a broadcast than IBF. He makes Dan Dierdorf and Tim McCarver look like savants in the booth. Everything with IBF is rainbows and butterflies. He offers the viewer absolutely nothing.

I'm glad McCord is gone. He was all schtick and didn't have an on/off switch. And if he had a switch it was always on. Feherty is the master of the on/off switch. He knows when to be light and crack jokes, but he always adds to drama and buildup of big moments. McCord just played the class clown at all times.

I am surprised they got rid of Kostis, though. I thought he added good substance to the broadcast. I liked his swing analysis, and as the swing coach for Paul Casey, he was still relevant with today's players.

I hope the addition of Davis Love is a good one. Just give me someone willing to give real insight and opinions and speak from their own experience.

I love Justin Leonard when NBC lets him in on the broadcast. I wish he would be featured more on NBC/Golf Channel. He's excellent.

Great post.

I didn't know about these other changes. Surprised as well to see Kostis let go.

I hope Davis Love works out. I've got a feeling he is going to be the next Greg Norman, but I hope I'm wrong about that.

What they really need is Eddie Pepperell. Hopefully he goes to the booth when he's done playing. Pretty sure CBS wouldn't be ok with anal bead talk though.

That's not fair. IBF always lets viewers know who on the leaderboard is from Australia.

I'm hoping for the opposite.

Greg Norman had all sorts of flare on the golf course; he was supposed to bring that to the booth.

Davis Love III is one of the most boring and generic people on the golf course; hopefully he's the opposite of that in the booth.

Hot driver testing? "Is ridiculous an option?" Had to be Xander.

The Brandel question was interesting. Maybe, we, the public, can't stand him that much whereas tour guys view him differently.

I was surprised by the only 1 gay pro question.

Least favorite playing partner? I'm stunned there wasn't a higher percentage for JB Holmes.

Eddie Pepperell got DQ'd from the Turkish Airlines Open today when he ran out of balls. Hit 4 or 5 into the water on his 12th hole after putting the previous hole with a wedge. Sounds like some grade A tilt.

Read that article. I especially enjoyed the Pebble Beach Tiger and Tin Cup references. Can't wait to see what he posts on Twitter.

good field this week. The guy I follow barely made it in by 3 spots. He finally made a cut last week and needs to make a couple more the next two weeks before the Korn Ferry 50 Reshuffle. I'm heading to the Sea Island event next week, anyone been there?
