If you have a label maker that will work. Otherwise just tell your fitter you want your name and phone number just below the end of the grip.

Definitely follow up with the shop about your clubs. If you aren’t satisfied with the response stop by in person and request to go through the lost and found.

I called them a couple hours ago and no answer. I'll give them a call tomorrow. If not I might just buy another 56 Volkey off ebay and just live without a 7 iron until my new clubs come. Thanks guys.

quick question....let's say i hit drive in a yellow/regular water hazard. The hazard is 100 yards long and starts 200 yards from tee. my ball went in at the furthest point from the tee box. let's also say, for the hell of it, that my ball went 300 yards before landing in water.

the rules say one point of relief is on a straight line towards where ball went in and BEHIND the hazard.

so is the furthest i can drop my ball somewhere like 200 yards from the tee? since anything further than that and i wouldn't bee "behind the hazard"?

i think i may be overthinking this.

Yes. Entry point is key. Drop there.

A. Within 2 club lengths.
B. Or keep that line (entry and flag) and go back as far as you want.

Losing clubs is annoying. I left a nice but not spanking new 56 degree greenside at a private course where I was a member a few years back. You'd think at a private course especially it would get turned in, but it never did. I blame the fact that the course was (is) having major money problems, and therefore booked outside events every freakin' weekend afternoon, and one was going on right after I played.

I've left many, many clubs over the years, and I think that's the only one I never got back.

I believe if it's yellow your 2 options are to replay the shot from the tee, or go back as far as you want from the point where the ball crossed the hazard and the hole. In this case it sounds like you might need to re-tee.

You can only drop 2 club lengths from where it entered if its a lateral (red) hazard.

That's why on 17 at Sawgrass they have to re-tee or hit from the drop zone if they went over the green into the water.

Just go to the course and say you want to double check for yourself and grab two oldies that look close enough, hehe.

Playing without a 56 is ridiculous. These look acceptable to get by?

23 days post-surgery update:

Chipped some shots, was feeling good so I went over to the short range with my 60*. Scared shitless would be the appropriate term for my swing. Struggled to trap the ball and hit some amazingly low thin shots. Will try again in a couple days.

How'd you feel though? Or did you back off?

I didn't take a full swing. I am a bit stiff and sore, but that's to be expected. Baby steps.

Thanks for the update! As a former athlete who would not take things slowly, I hope you do ease back into things. I definitely relate to the scared shitless comment coming back from an injury.

I posted this earlier in a different thread, but I think this one is more appropriate

Which swing trainer do you recommend? I'm looking to strengthen my golf muscles, I guess you'd say and maybe improve flexibility. I exercise everyday, however I'm a little stiff after the first round.

I want to get in better golf shape before we go on a trip in a few weeks and I'm not going to have enough time to get in many rounds before then. I checked Google and was surprised and overwhelmed by the choices. I really don't want to spend $100 on the orange whip either unless it is far superior to everything else.

Just get stronger and more flexible in general. Don’t worry about golf specific lifts. Do squats, deadlifts, overhead press and bench press. Maybe some rows and a few others. Work on hip and shoulder mobility.

That will literally get you 95% of the way there.

I have aH&F thread if you want to read it that details what I do. But I could be doing it for anything not just golf.

Just keep it simple

Go look at the Joey D website. He trains a lot of the pro golfers in South Florida. I thiink you can pick up a lot of pointers from there. If you do any sort of weight training I would highly recommend doing somethin like yoga along with it to maintain your flexibility.

Interesting site, thank you. I have it bookmarked. I should have asked these questions over the winter back when I started exercising so I would be in golf shape again.

Yoga is something that I tried before and I liked it. However, I need to look into some videos on YouTube I guess. For some reason I've lost flexibility in my left shoulder so there are probably some poses I can't do. It's got to be arthritis, but I haven't checked with the doctor yet. Instead, I've been lifting weights and that has helped a great deal.

In the meantime, I ordered an orange whip for myself and also my wife. If nothing else, it will help with the tempo and might stop me from coming over the top of the ball.
