the GHIN website offers the opportunity to post either a total ESC score or post hole-by-hole. i'm pretty sure if you're logged in with your account (so they know your HC) they will auto-calc your ESC score if you post hole-by-hole

Another pic from the Eagle Eye course in Michigan, the rest are in the album below.

Eagle Eye (Hawk Hallow) - Michigan

Breaking 80 is hard! I shot my career low the other day and I played about as good as I am capable of playing. I probably left a shot or two out there, but I also hit 3 putts that were 10+ feet, so there was that trade off. I don't think it will ever happen for me, but I was happy to break 85 at least.

An oddly amusing "why the hell did this pop up in my Youtube suggestions" video -- for those of you that enjoy Billy Packer, 80s fashions, and/or strange pre-careers of professional bowlers:

Both of those courses were absolute gems and I'd highly recommend them if it's a close drive.
I've played Eagle Eye a few times and it's a fine course. High praise indeed, though, to put it on the same level as Forest Dunes.

Then again rankings are weird ... I know people that swear Tullymore is the best course in Michigan and I'm not sure it makes my top 20.

Are you playing courses that are geared to your game? I score better on shorter (<6500 yard) courses with large greens -- plays to my strengths of hitting it relatively straight & accurately and being a decent lag putter and away from my weaknesses of hitting it short and terribad chipping and pitching. Obviously helps to play the course regularly as well so you know the safe spots and danger zones.

Yeah this course I just played, I've played a lot. It's around 6,200 yards from the whites and not too tough. I guess I have to work on getting up and down when I miss the green.

Somewhat disturbing hearing Billy Packer say "He's gotta come in the back door" over and over again.

First time I can recall telling a group I was playing through and not asking and I was walking and they were a 2 ball riding. Basically I was waiting to tee off on a 440 yard dogleg right, single old guy was pulling away as I was walking up which is fine. So after 5 minutes I see the guy in the trees wave me up, was assuming it was the 2 ball holding up the old guy. I hit a good tee shot and walk to it and realize it was the old guy who is driving back says he is just going back to play the hole before. I sit there for 5 minutes watching this kid putt. Was like what the ****, he finally gets done and I am about to hit he goes back up and picks up an old guy in the trees who I guess was spending 5 minutes looking for a ball. He just drops on in the fairway at 80 yard mark at this point I am what the **** and just sit on the ground after giving them the wtf look. He tops it about 20 yards, then blades it into the bunker, 4 swings later blades it out and over the green, then chip on and 3 putt. At that point I am ****ing deciding whether to laugh or cry. They finally go to the next tee box, I hit the green and 2 putt. I see the kid hit it like 40 degrees left into the trees, and the dad tops his 20 yards kid says he is hitting another. Dad who must be deaf and blind spends 1 minute looking for his tee right in front of the line of play and the kid is waiting to hit. They had ignored me saying hi as I came to the box so I just said **** it and tossed a ball in the rough pulled out the 3 wood and teed off from there right after I told them I was playing through. Hit the ball, the kid and dad looked all pissed yelled what are you doing, I said playing through, thank you and continued my walked down the fairway figuring I was as safe as I could be in the middle if they tried to hit me. Got done with that hole and a 500 yard par 5, walking mind you when they were just teeing off the 500 yard hole as I teed off the one after.

I made the right decision in my mind.

And the night after my best round ever I had some pretty bad pain from the left part of my chest going down to my bicep. Just a pectoral tear. There goes the summer.

Sometimes, I finally saw one after I played through and let her know about the group. They are all volunteers though who do it for free golf.

You really think a tour player would use a non urethane premium ball? Or you just thought they would be cheap to try and sell them?

Bubba sucks either way these days.

Figured they would be cheap because the brand has no value, like the Kirkland Costco balls (a much superior ball to lolvolvik)

Now if I could just find some Kirklands I would buy all of them I could get.
