Wow, some horrible putting going on. It's one thing to miss putts on difficult greens, it's another to stab blindly with poor putting strokes.

on a double hit like by TC Chen back in the day, do you play it as it lies after the shot? or go back to where you were counting those 2 shots?

Hehe, remember the "the most famous Harrington" thread.

In my local coverage they mentioned Joey Harrington as a remote cousin to Padraig. I wrote in telling them about Dan Harrington as a poker player. They mentioned him, but they did not know who he was.

So I guess that Padraig is the most famous Harrington.

Well we don;t watch soccer, but yes, I would say on a percentage basis, football crowds have the highest proportion of spackers of any spectator sport in the Uk, and it's not close in any way. See our two tame Man City fans as perfect examples of said spackerisms.

Of course, we treat golf with the reverence it deserves, none of that American vulgarity.

While I would never wish injury or illness on anyone, I am thrilled that Tiger is not going to be there. He has dominated the last two PGAs and four- or five-shot victories are just not that appealing to me.

I'm looking forward to watching an exciting finish on Sunday. There's a good chance that somebody will be breaking through in a major, such as Sergio or Anthony Kim, which I think is great for the game.
I'm not getting into an argument with BSF about this, but i just don;t understand it, and I agree with you 100%.

I know your coverage of the Open was apparently a non-stop 'Tiger this and Tiger that', but over here he barely got a mention, and what a tremendous event it was until Padraig ran away with it on the last half dozen holes, but no Tiger is as likely to be a good event as him being there.

Very little chance IMO he gets picked either. He might end up regretting those comments if he never gets a chance to play in one.

Azinger said all was forgiven regarding the comments and if Hunter got the chance to play this year, he'd see the positives of the event. Also apparently some (most?) of the issues that Hunter brought up were old news and had been addressed in 1999.

I believe all that and I like Mahan and was hoping he was on the team. But I can't use a pick on a guy on the bubble who made it snow in the PGA.

First candidate for whiney Eurobitch -- Lee Westwood.

The PGA is "sucking the fun" out of this major championship, according to Lee Westwood.

"...I sound as if I am moaning — which I am — but it is a great shame as it is a fantastic golf course, they are great greens and they are playable but there is no need to play it as it is."

"In my opinion it is too thick around the greens as well. It takes the skill away from chipping. You don't need it. The course is 7,500 yards long, the greens are firm, and the pins are tucked away.
