Dufner's odds look really good at first glimpse but hasn't he putted like **** the last couple tournies?

Forgot the tournament earlier this year where Dufner missed 2 putts inside 3 feet on Sunday. Certainly, if he putts bad he won't be close. But from 6' and out he seems solid and Augusta seems to get more than its share of par putts from 6'+.

CHESSON HADLEY in the hunt.

This course looks like a 4 1/2 hour kick in the nuts. I think the average winning score is like -9 or so.

EDIT: according to the course scorecard it's 76.5 / 148, although I imagine it's even a fair bit harder for the pros.

That is as big a sucker bet as betting on Tiger

Can Weir even drive #12?

So you finish your 80+ round one...

Would your rather the standard night off to think about, or rather just get back out there a couple hours later, like some of these guys after the fog delay.

100% get back out there so you can leave sooner

Chesson needs better than 7th I hear to get a masters invite. Currently T1

I like these kinds of sweats
03-28-2014 , 12:26 PM
Let's hope he finishes 8th.

Wait - didn't he win in Puerto Rico? Isn't he automatically in with a win? Or does that one not count since it was opposite the WGC.
03-28-2014 , 03:02 PM
The pga twitter says he needs top 7 to get the invite. So I am thinking you're right about the event being opposite the WGC and thus not getting him in.

Solid 40 on the back 9 for him putting him back to 13th

Yeah, only full FedEx Cup point events count as win-and-in for Masters.

But what's the rule that gets him in if he finishes top 7? Top 50 OWGR?

Meanwhile, sick bunker shot from MacKenzie.

Yes. Here are the final 3 ways to get into this year's Masters (for those not already qualified, ldo):

1) Be in the top 50 of Monday's OWGR release (Hadley is currently #56)

2) Win the Valero Texas Open

3) Win the Shell Houston Open

Pat Perez seems like a bit of an ******* on the course.
03-28-2014 , 05:15 PM
Perez is one of like three guys I actively root against (the others being Tiger and...I can't even remember the other one off the top of my head tbh). To give Perez credit where due, he's having a pretty remarkable career run these last few months.

Was watching a bit earlier, Steven Bowditch with a very sloppy/nervous double bogey to end his round. They said he's never led a PGA Tour event after a round in his career. Looked it up, he's had about ~120 starts over the years, that stat presumably includes being tied for the lead. That seems almost hard to do for a guy who has earned $2M on the tour.

If his finish was due to nerves I can't imagine they will be any calmer tomorrow as they are forecasting pretty strong winds. Could be a bloodbath.

This leaderboard is a veritable who's who of people I've definitely heard of but aren't traditionally atop the leaderboard of a PGA Tour event.

Except Andrew Loupe. I've never heard of that ****er.

Yup its like I heard of most of you and wish you were not on the leaderboard

This Euro-Asia event has come down to the last day, last match, last group, tied in points and all square in the match, Gonzo vs. some rando AZN. There were ten singles matches and the Euros could only win two (Jimenez and Joost Looten) and a half in one other. Medinah-esque collapse in progress.
03-29-2014 , 02:18 AM
Tie. BOO. WE DEMAND A LOSER.
03-29-2014 , 03:40 AM
After first five matches it was 5-0 to Europe

Anybody else notice that after GF Castano made the short putt on 18, he quickly picked up his opponent's mark in concession and stuck it in his own pocket? Shook hands with everybody and walked off, never saw him give it back.

Yep, found that pretty funny :-)
03-29-2014 , 01:02 PM
For how many top 10s Kuchar gets, you'd think he would win more often. I guess he's missing the length and the elite putting to close out tournies?
