Anyone have any problems transfering a larger amount of money(20k+) from PS to a mexican bank account? My mex account is a peso account not near the border. Not sure if that matters.

Hi, Im in TJ now for a few days to check it out. Im thinking of moving down here parttime. Any recs on areas to live. I need to be close to the border as I need to get to SD a few times a week for quick visits. My budget is from 600 to 800 US. Is playas Tijuana feasable.

Also what about live games. I heard caliente and a place in Rosarito spreads games, any word on the stakes and when they run. Thanks!!

I apologize if this has been answered in the thread already, but I wasn't able to quickly find it - what's the latest situation on getting a bank account in Mexico while living in TJ/Rosarito?

There seems to be so much conflicting information. I keep reading about how there is a 20KM exemption if you live that close to the border where a residency card is not required. Just your passport and local bills/lease. Is that the case? Some people keep posting about how a residency card is required regardless of where you live.

If you don't get a bank account, how else are you able to play - are you getting people to ship you money on Stars?

There are lots of ways to get around having a mexican bank to play on stars. Its been a while since I opened my mexican bank account but from what I remember/hear its not a problem w your passport and lease. If you have a bunch of questions get someone to add you to the skype group. Gl

Can someone please post the actual, current retail exchange rates for the peso? Like what are you guys actually seeing "on the street" in Rosarito? I know spot is about 15 but I'm guessing retail is more like 14 to the Dollar? Please post the current buy/sell rates you are seeing.

I want to hire someone in Rosarito or TJ for the following:

Help me transfer my US PStars account to one I can use in Mexico for real cash. Maybe move one of your utilities to my name temporarily? I'd need to be able to use your address and all that to give to PStars
Ship me cash on PStars. I give you cash in person, you ship me on PStars
Host me for 4 weekends. I live in Las Vegas and would be coming down there on 3-day weekends.

Basically, I want to specialize in mixed games online but I've never played them extensively on PStars. So I want to make a smaller investment in trying the games for a few weeks before I make a full-blown move to Mexico. With the three steps above, it would enable me to try the games for a while and see if the entire move is for me.

Step #3 above is less important. If you help me get the account and funded, I can always stay in a hotel or something if you are unable to host me.

Please PM me if you can help me with this and we'll discuss payment.

How can I open a bank account there? Which bank should I go to?

I think Poker Refuges charges 1400 for bank account and neteller set up so I'm trying to see if I can do it on my own first.
