Have there been any issues with the cars in the open-style parking garage? Break-ins and what not? Just curious.

I currently have a rental in Club Marena and I have a private 1-car enclosed garage. But might be moving in near future and I'd like to be a little further north.

Trying to find links for this place (La Jolla del Mar) or rental companies that have pics/pricing, no luck yet but I'll keep searching.

We have a 2 bedroom for $1200. We had Jenny from poker expats give us listings for our second place. She was very helpful and accommodating, even came in on a Sunday to let us in. If you are in the skype chat, she's in that too. I think most of her listings are in those towers.

There have been zero issues with my car. It's a gated community and security is pretty tight about actually getting through the gates.

2br for $1200???? rofl

rosarito ain't that nice, go like 15-30 minutes north or south and find a chill place for half that. but i guess if you're just scared of mexicans and want to wall yourself into a half-full barricaded compound with other white people, then yea standard i guess.

+1 - I thought the same thing. That's A LOT of money to be spending on rent in Mexico.

I didn't think 600 each was a lot. Place came furnished in a gated condo tower with pools, some treadmills and beach front. IDK. I'm happy with it.

I paid $700 for my share of a 3BR place last time I was there. Didn't regret it one bit.

i paid $700 total for a 2br 2nd-story beachfront house/condo in a "gated" community with private gym and library below it on the first floor in ensenada. most of my neighbors were mexicans and i never had a single issue with anything. it was lovely.

you'll obv pay slightly more when you're in rosa just due to closer proximity to the border, but 1200 is way way too much. you probably could have offered 800-900 for the same place and been snap-accepted, and if not, you could have found something equally suitable just a short drive down the road.

banking question...

can you withdrawal Skrill funds into your US bank account?

their phone rep told me "yes," but a lot of posts that I read are pointing to "no"

I'd be curious what season did he start renting in. If it was more closer to the summer months obviously he would pay more then in the winter months.

You sound like you've been here and are comfortable with the surroundings. For people moving here on there own, or are new to Mexico, living in a place like this is fine. Its def on the pricey side of things in town but is more than reasonable considering how nice it is. Once they've gotten acclimated they can spread their wings and look for better, more reasonably priced, places.

He didn't get "ripped off" lol! You don't know what floor he is on, view corridors (some suck in La Jolla Del Mar/Real, others are great), condition of furnishings and finishes, flooring, counter tops, appliances, etc. They can vary quite a bit from unit to unit.

Just knowing it's a 2BR in La Jolla Real/Del Mar doesn't tell you near enough information as to its worth as a rental, come on guys. And $1,200 isn't out of the ballpark depending on all the above criteria.

We started this lease in August after the series was over. I know Ensenada is much cheaper, but it's too far away from the border for me since I travel a fair bit and need to be closer to the SD airport.

How can I get added to this Skype group? Thinking about renting a place down there so I can play on the weekends, that way I can still work and go to school in California. Should be able to get in near 40 hours of grinding from Thursday to Sunday. Is this insanely unrealistic?
