1. Do you guys just remit your winnings in a Maltese bank account anyway or have an offshore bankaccount; so the money is never remitted here; so never taxable?!
2. Does any player here in Malta pay taxes on his winnings?!
3. Does anyone know how it works with the permanent residence scheme; where you pay about 4K euro's as minimum taxes?!
4. Or simply how do you guys handle taxes?!
Thank you very much for helping me out.
regarding all this:
I have no clue why somebody would want to open a maltese bank account As being stated as soon as u start transfering your pokermoney there this money gets taxable. There is decent chance u acutally never pay taxes and nobody ever asks
but in general you have to tax this money and for most players it will be 35%!
Just keep the **** offshore - problem solved.
I don't know any poker player who applied for the permanent residence scheme and is paying 15% flat
I know one guy who is paying taxes over a ltd. which is 5% after first paying 35% and then getting 30% back later. I don't know how to do this and if it is safe but for me it doesn't sound good so i never did it...
90% of tax advisers here will push u in that direction though if u speak with them, most likely because they setting everything up and declaring taxes at the end of the year and making $ out of this while they obv don't making $ when u ship money offshore...
