Nice and how much did your girlfriend cost?

So you're 21 and embarking on a career where you expect to make $3k-$10k per year when a minimum wage job in Australia pays $35,000 per year.

If you still love it then you obviously aren't putting in enough hours.

If you can't make at least $30,000 a year then you are much better off doing something else while you are still young enough, that's the best advice I can give you.

I made smart decision to stop poker last december and find a job and cashed out all my money. After all the effort i put in that year finding a job was kinda heartbreaking,, And then going from 20$ to like a 3.2k in two days roll is just a massive sign i shouldnt give up on my dream. I see this as a holiday!!! but im defiantly not there to party

If you think i cant handle stresses of being a pro, you dont know my mum or my situation. Sitting in a hotel in a foreign country away from everything would paradise for me.

35K :O tell me where please, I live in Australia and can't even find a job. Australia now a days is full of overseas people who are cheaper then to hire then your Australian so we don't get hired. And if you're in a part-time/casual job you're lucky to get 35K after Tax is deducted. Just saying....

Arrived in PP yesterday night for a visa run, and I am actually quite happy with the city, I expected a ****hole like Vientiane. I was super tired so I just went to the casino quickly, 2 full tables running with a mix of asians and western gamblers, 1/2$ and 2/5$.

This morning I gave my passport to a travel agent, with $60, he will take care of everything and bring the passport to my hotel in two days. No need to visit the embassy at all.

People are nice friendly and helpful, but the tuktuk/mototaxis are super annoying, on a 20mn walk they ask me if I need them like 80 times, some are super pushy. So you can't have a quite stroll along the river.

Tonight I will play some poker for a bit at Naga, get drunk, and try to find a hot Cambodian "gf" for the night. I have been told that Pontoon and Heart of Darkness are the places to go, is that right?

Oh and alcohol is super cheap, a bottle of Smirnoff is $9, JB scotch $15. If one day I decide to stop poker to become a full time alcoholic, I will definitely move there.

@shark Why did you choose Cambodia instead of Thailand? Thailand is better for travel noobs, you will feel confortable quicker there.

Shark, will easily handle being and becoming a pro, I know parts of his situation and his been through tuff tuff times and got through the other side to be even more positive and motivated to get things done. He doesn't sit back and wait for things to happen, he makes them happen. eg. he wants to become pro so he is taking the step forward and making it happen.

Everywhere. The federally mandated minimum wage is $17 an hour, which is $35,000 per year.

No it isn't, the minimum wage applies to everyone over 21, where they are from is irrelevant.

Haven't been to heart in a while but I'm pretty sure it's virtually a gay club thesedays, the last time I went in there there was about 3 girls in there and full of gay Khmer men who love westerners, so gl with that.

Pontoon definitely the place to go, great club but like 80% of the girls in there are working, so depends what you're after. G-pub is a good place to go after, it doesn't get busy till around 4am though and is right next to Pontoon. You can drink there till the sun comes up.

It's fine, and a much quicker/easier process than doing it yourself.

It's standard in Cambodia to get travel agents to process your visa.

Then they are under 21. The minimum adult wage in Australia is $16.87 an hour. It's illegal to pay less than that.

Naga Games have been running constantly all of this week, seems to be some deeper stacks, a lot more players then previously.

Anyone know who/why the 2/5 game just re-started?
