There has been a lot of unsure answers on internet connections yet so many players seem to live in bangkok. Does anyone have a definitve answer on the matter: Is the internet stable and usuable for long sessions, or does it go out every couple hours and scattered 10 second blinks throughout?
Secondly, which companies for internet would be recommended and is 3g card a reliable backup?
Speed is of no concern to me, cause you can 24tbl with as little as 300kbps connections, its all about consistency in connection.

You guys have surely seen these sweet luxury buses that have couches and private areas, yes?

Are they only used for tour groups?

I have only taken a bus one time, from BKK to CM. It was 'VIP' bus but looked just like a nice double decker bus... did not have cool couches, etc.

Anyone know more about the real luxury buses? I would like to take it probably from BKK to Phuket...

I had 0 disconnects last 3 weeks with True. Although sometimes there are some latency issues causing you to time out when you play speed tables. I rarely/never time out when playing on normal tables stars/party

I ve no clue where you can get that kind of bus, the best one I ve found are the VIP bus you are mentioning. I wouldnt be surprised if they are only used for tour groups since they would most likely be as expensive as a plane ticket.

I think the reason is internet is pretty inconsistent. I mean, it depends on where you live and your provider...could be great or could suck. Where I currently live I have True and it's been working great for the last year and a half. I still get occasional disconnects while playing (which is strange since my torrents and web browsing still work fine while I'm disconnected from the poker site), but usually reconnect before timing out. Other places I've had the internet regularly disconnect for 3-4 hours at a time. You can only imagine how frustrating that is. At another place I had TOT and it was so extremely laggy doing anything but web browsing was pretty useless. Anyway, those were all quite a few years ago so maybe everything has improved since then. I haven't had any problems recently. *knock on wood*

Has anyone gotten money to Thailand via depositing money on Moneybookers via bank deposit, then withdrawing from MB to Thai bank account ? Just don't want to deposit and then have it stuck for ages because of some security checks/whatever.

Hey guys!

Going to thailand in a couple of weeks to grind poker for 3 months. Have read a little in this thread but I'm a complete newbie on internet related stuff. How good is the internet connection in 2-3 stars hotels in thailand overall? Is their wii-fi good enoght to grind 4-6 tables? If not, what do you guys recommend to do? First of is koh samui, Is there any major differens on good internet connection if you compares islands and the mainland?

EDIT: also, have disconncetions been a problem for you? what can I do about it?

Thanks!

Hello guys, I have been in Thailand for 3 weeks now, just got my ps account activated this morning.. I am so ready to grind again.. Does anyone have any info on how long it would take for me to deposit into K-bank and then deposit onto my ps cashier? Would I be better off trying to do a p2p transfer in order to get a roll on there? Thanks!

I have been using wifi and grinding on black chip for 2 weeks and in my experience it has been pretty horrible, I have only been running like 1 session a day for maybe an hour, and I time out a lot... It takes about one week to get actual Internet, but I am not sure about Koh Samui, but I def suggest getting Internet over wifi...

just got back from a holiday in Phuket. great experience, nice place, loved every minute of it. thanks for the help in answering questions here.

some info that seemed to be wrong was alcohol costs in Singapore (duty free was much cheaper in Singapore than Aus or Thailand especially for the good stuff)

just in case people need to know.

Cheers

1. Open a Kbank account

2. Open an www.entropay.com account

You will get hit for a 5% vig but it is the only way to deposit from Thailand really.

If you have cash you can almost certainly find someone to do a player transfer for you and can usually charge them a vig up to 5% but it depends on the site. Just post in the chatter thread, "selling baht for x% on (poker site)"

Partypoker automatically refunds the 5% entropay vig now in the client fwiw. Not sure about other sites I'd bug support if I played elsewhere

You can only buy duty free at the airport. I assume most people were talking about the cost of alcohol in a bar.

I thought you could deposit with the K-Bank Web Shopping Card, I know it has worked for people on Full Tilt before.

Thanks for the ideas guys, and I open to hearing more about the Web Shopping Card... And is it true that if you do a check in the mail to withdrawal that it takes about 4 weeks to clear at K-Bank? What about any other methods that have worked out for you faster? I'm sure this has been discussed so sorry if I am asking a repetitive thing...
