How the Bangkok police racket thais and tourists explained by former MP and massage parlour boss, Chuwit Kamolwisit

Quote:
Each of the 88 police stations in Bangkok has a target of fleecing the public and tourists of 100,000 baht a day or 3 million baht a month.

That's 264 million baht a month for the fund.

Secondly there are contributions from checkpoints set up by the traffic police. There are 20 of these.

The traffic cops must also contribute 100,000 baht a day at each checkpoint making a further 2 million baht a day.

That's 60 million baht a month.

This brings the total to 324 million baht a month. Chuwit was not quoted as saying how this was shared out exactly.

If you wanna YOLO hard, here are the rates for the extortion:

Quote:
The rates to be let off certain crimes are:

Driving under the influence of alcohol: 30,000 baht.

Having a purple urine test (indicating drug use): 100,000 baht.

Being in possession of drugs: 300,000 to 500,000 baht.

Having an E-cigarette device: 30,000 baht.

Being caught with a weapon: 30,000 to 50,000 baht

A few questions about applying for an E visa.

1. If I apply for a multi entry visa and its refused will they give me a single entry instead?(the website seems to say they will but I wont get the price difference refunded, but just want to check)
2. One of the supporting documents required for a mutli entry is "A confirmation letter from employer, School, Self-assessment, Pension statement" what I could use for this as I am a poker player?
3. What is that website called where they book a plane ticket for you and cancel it after a few days?

Thanks

I've never applied for this visa but as for 1) I'm pretty sure they can also flat out reject you if that's what they want to do and with 3) I think you mean bestonwardticket.com and the like (no cancellation required). With many airlines you can also book fully refundable tickets, these will be more expensive but you will get your money back. As for 2) my guess would be you would have to write a nice letter with some half-truths like you live off of your investments or you take a year off and have the funds from previous jobs, whatever matches best with your background, never mention poker or any in Thailand work activities, pretty sure they will not be covered and could be good grounds for rejection

there's definitely rolling tobacco available in Thailand and I'm sure is being sold at 7/11. If not can search for it on google maps but a liquor store or some other shop will def have it.

What's the rate for murdering a Thai prostitute and disposing of her body in a suitcase?

blue is light (and sometimes menthol?). green is menthol. red is strong. yellow is also light for camel at least. purple or X is often with the menthol capsules to click. its crazy confusing to me since they changed all the packaging. They have 7.1s as well which are the thinner cigs, so im guessing a yellow/gold/blue version of 7.1s would be 'best' for you.

Get into Bangkok on Thurs for a week/two weeks (or potentially more) - if anyone is keen to grab a beer, bite, brew, or butt, shoot me a five dolla holla.

Cheers,

Big Body

One brah I know well told me a story about a dude who is friend with of one of his best friend. Long story short, this European guy killed a Thai dude in self-defense, no witness so got sentenced for murder. Long story short, he's sleeping in cell with 10 Somchais and hes getting gang raped on a daily basis, thais are a little bit nationalist.. just imagine what gonna happen in jail to a foreigner who killed a Thai girl...

50k limit transferring funds from outside to most banks is a drag. What about if someone with a Thai bank account transfers to your account? Can you exceed the 50k limit?

Cheers

Has anyone in Phuket used an agent to help set up a bank account on a tourist visa? What sort of price should I expect? I was quoted 9800 which seems a lot.

Just do it yourself. As mentioned before the best bet is Bangkok Bank, in tourist areas. If one branch doesn't work, just try another one.

it's mostly old dudes with their Thai wifes and tourists. It's a good combo of beaches and convenience as it's farang friendly. There's a couple of malls and lots of restaurants. Good place to relax, not much a party place but there's bar girls obviously.

Hua Hin is somewhere I'd never go on vacation to but oddly would happily live there. Has all the conveniences you need and air quality better than anywhere else besides the south when it gets bad.
