yeah you go to victory monument. They have a mini van near Hospital there, get inside the one that says "hua hin". 3 hours later you are there, then head to soi 94 and about 100 meters in you will find a very nice indian restaurant.

As for BKK from 2nd hand suggestions i have been told the Rembrandt hotel does a nice curry, long with "indus". Then from JSP and trip advisory there a few places near KSR. All the ones I have tried in Sukhumvit seem piss poor really

PE has it all wrong you go to hua lamphong MRT station get a 2nd class sleeper train to laos border, tuk tuk to vientiane, take a left where soi mixai meets the mekhong river after the temple, after about 15 hours you are there and you'll find a nice indian restaurant by the corner

Maybe someone has any suggestions for condos in samui, lamai or chaweng? And what prices would be reasonable for 1 bedroom if renting for 2 months april-june?

new to this thread... i see alot of talk about patong, phuket , bangkok, samui etc... not a word about ao nang. i just came back from a 3-week stay in ao nang krabi and also um... ko lanta... imo patong is just crap. cant understand why people would want to hang around there at all.

any opionions about ao nang and ko lanta? (yes ive been to phuket, patong etc didnt like it)... i loved ao nang tho... and ko lanta was nice too (and cheap)

Why is it good not to see a hooker? Well bro, have I got some news for you. Thailand has been the worlds premier whorehouse for hundreds of years. Go read some stuff from the late 1800s and you'll see plenty of stories of the Siamese women and how they used to live on ships that docked. The current bar girl is just the latest iteration in a long and bountiful tradition of sexytime in Thailand.

not much in the way of condos on samui. you can get hotel roomesque places for 10-16k, or house for 12-18k. easy to pay 25k on what is a hotel room at a nicer (but not glitzy) place.

samui really isn't a condo place. I'd plan to stay in a hotel for a week, explore with a bike and find somewhere. Laem din Hotel in cheweng is about 650b / night and good or short term. [email protected] has 3 bungalows in lamai for 590 a night and is pretty sweet for price imo, but you need a bike. just do something like that for starters and look around. @lamai hotel was 700 - can book on agoda. nice room / not enough windows to stay long, can rent a bike from them without passport.

samui is a pain in the ass to find long term stuff. but if you have a short term option that isnt breaking the bank, id do that and take your time.

she was probably the one I took home then locked myself out of my place and couldn't finish the deal. I say this because I dont remember any other girls worth banging 3 weeks straight.

I liked ao nang. would stay there a month. lot of older folks driving up restaurant prices at the waterfront, but I stayed up the hill a bit, close to markets. I think its pricey and hard to find place during high season. I'd recommend chatchada house. new rooms, cool owner. 900b or ~20k/month.

better nightlife than chiang mai imo if you are there short term. I still think chiang mai would be awesome if you stay there 6 months and knew some thai but i'm a double negatore on that front.

its prob a nice place to go on hoilday and visit for 1-2 weeks. Living there, most likely not, I have not been, but ill take a stab in the dark and say there will be no decent restaurants/choice/variety. Cost too much to get anywhere. Small expat community, so if you like playing sports you chit out of luck. too many tourists and trash packers, kind of a crap spot to get to anywhere else in thailand other then phuket.

small choice of studio/1br ad a decent prices, not enough hot slootz or hookers

i lived up the hill a bit too... also on top of the hill was a very nice restaurant. hilltop. best view in all of thailand ive seen. once place at the waterfront i would very much recommend was "the last fisherman"... check it out if u are in ao nang. blah blah blah i should mention the last fisherman is not a fish restaurant only. got mostly grilled meat etc barbecue
