A friend an I are going to Chiang Mai from Feb-Apr. Any general advise?

Also, anyone interested in pairing up and getting a relatively sick house?

Do you guys know about any good take out restaurants that deliver directly to your door @ a Sukhumvit hotel? I am getting sick of room service where you spend 250 baht on a standard thai dish. I've been hearing rumors about this great Indian place, but I didn't catch the name.

sad, sad news wow. There has been some crazy stuff happening in Thailand and especially Phuket lately... RIP

Phuket crew: I have 4 female friends about to fly into Phuket and travel around from there. They will be staying at very cheap hostels/hotels/bungalows.

Should they book anything in advance or just get here and figure it out? Basically I'm asking if stuff ever gets fully booked in Phuket during high season to the point they should pre-book online.

edit: obv also any rec's for cheap places to stay in Phuket, phi phi, etc. would be appreciated too.

I stayed here its 2mintue walk from kata beach, away from the busy s1ht hole of paptong, and they also have femal only dorms, so pervs like me cant rap3 them. Nice staff n place. if they walk another 200 meters away from the beach you get normal priced thai food also

oh hell yeah! I've never ridden one of those things before, so I wasn't going to chance it by going helmetless. Not really an ideal situation, but the taxis and even those baht buses or whatever you call em were charging too much money just to go short distance.. I saw many foreigners helmetless though. Maybe they were more confident in their abilities? It's hardly a shock a taxi running over people, they drive like they're in the freakin Daytona 500

I couldn't hide the damage if I tried, I crashed in the parking lot of our hotel (actually between ours and the one over) and there were about 5 Thais who witnessed the accident, along with one of the workers lol.
Thought the GF might have fractured her foot, but it end up getting infected the next day. There was a German tourist who was a doctor who offered her help right after the crash, but she too damn stubborn to allow him.

Was hoping to spend around 10k baht per man. CM is supposedly cooler and air much cleaner than bangkok.

Are they asking for utility bill?

How are Americans depositing with the Neteller/Moneybookers issues?

.
that's the right order, but no bank account statement with address exists, at least for the bank i use. they used to have a bank manager call your landlord, then write a letter confirming address and bank account, but that's really hard to get now because so many players asked for it after black friday they got scared. a utility bill with your name and address in english also works. good luck finding that. on the plus side, a proof of residence is supposed to work. you get that at the immigration office. fortunately, i've gotten the bank letter when i needed it, so i didn't have to track down any of this other bull****.

americans can convert their neteller accounts to a thai address, and deposit with it. they can also use entropay accounts.

I enjoyed Trang, but it's not really a spot to go find some professional one night girlfriends. given your propensity for Pattaya, you might enjoy Hat Yai. while avoiding the terrorists, there's supposed to be some really good nightlife targeting Malaysians who cross the border. again, i've not experienced this myself.

I'm guessing that he wasn't connected to the Phuket 2+2 crowd, because none of us seem to know anything about this or who it might be. RIP, obv.

Thanks, I'll look at trang, been looking at some of the islands down there anyway. Will be hookered out after a week in Patong so no need for any of that down there.

Also guys let me know of there is any outstanding islands/beaches/scenery down south that are worth going to, its hard to decipher the really top stuff from the merely good in the guide books.

Pretty much done phi and Ao Nang and the obvious day trips in the immediate area around those places but nothing else. Might do a day trip to the Similian islands, but interested in staying somewhere for a couple of nights for the scenery etc. happy with somewhere with zero nightlife for that part of the trip.

In 2.5 weeks i'll be landing in BKK. Being the lazy, procrastinating turd that I am, i've neglected to get proper vaccines in the US. I could do it here, but i'm guessing it will cost a small fortune. Can anyone point me in the right direction for hep/typhoid vaccines in Bangkok?
