Yah.. think I did this close to 10 times sometimes not realizing until I got home.. sometimes got card back sometimes didn't.. in the end I left thailand with no debit or skrill card.

That seems like 23~ pounds in fees from stars to cash though man, trying to reduce that this time around hopefully

Looks like I'm paying a bit over 5%. Considering some guy is selling stars at +4% I'm not that worried to be honest. Exchange feels will always be there and don't forget the 180 every time we use a card. My personal advice is take the bullet on exchange fees and don't risk trading unless you are really busto or really trust the traders

So how much do people get charged cashing out euros from pokersite straight to thai bank? Skrill to thai bank seems to have a $30 flat fee, plus 2% or so from thai bank. Skrill also charges about 2% if you cashout in something other than euro first.

No idea, but there has always been a couple % vig. (based on shipping stars so they can skrill - thai bank large amounts) That's why the above offer of neteller to thb with no vig is funny.

Paying 5% + like me is def not optimal but > sorting out bank accounts in home country > better than dealing with a 3rd party for me

Always back peddling hey Spiv. Deja vu. This started because you were offering someone serious advice on how best to hydrate themselves when they are really sick. Then when you get called out on being completely ignorant and full of **** you revert to "ohh if you really want to know what's best for your body in this spot, you're a cliche hipster.".......Then why did you offer nutritional advice in the first place?

With Skrill in EUR you the flat fee is 3 EUR or so. The thai bank does the conversion in TBH, and it's less than 1% I think.

Let's change the subject for something more interesting. Hookers!

I'm having difficulties finding some hot ones lately in Bangkok. Sometimes I enter a gogo, and I wouldn't touch any of them even if it was free. I don't even wanna let them sit on my laps, they don't deserve that pleasure. And they are not even fun, they just ask the same boring question quickly followed by "you pay me tequila?".

So I usually get as drunk as I can, then take the less horrible I find and take her to the nearest short time hotel as I would be ashamed to bring her back home. And of course the intercourse is as boring as she is.

I remember even like two years ago, there were at least a few extremly hot, fun girls in each gogo, what happened to them? They seem to hire any Nok coming straight from Issan and desperate for money these days.

Any place I worth a visit or should I just give up on gogos?

yeah, two years ago the gogos were still good despite all the complaints from cheap charlies. sure, you might have to go bar to bar looking, but i like drinking.

even a year ago the selection had deteriorated, but there were still good bars.

i was there during the new year and it was dismal.

part of it was girls leaving the bars and not returning during the bangkok shut down. the other part was the army cracking down on all bars, so no khmer or lao dancers. the good ones that are left get snapped up for multiple barfines every night so you have to get in quick at 9pm.

As I said earlier, Kbank charges about 0.75%.

If you go to hospital with dehydration, they'll give you Gatorade to drink before they put you on an IV. Not a ****ing coconut.

0.25%, but with a minimum of 200b, max 500b

so to hit the minimum 0.25% of 200b you'd need to be cashing out 80k baht at a time from stars (2150 EUR)

'to transfer to branches outside Bangkok and vicinity, there will be additional fees, which are leased line fee of 20 baht per transaction, and 10 baht for each 10,000 baht transferred (minimum 10 baht and maximum 750 baht)'

2.99% https://www.skrill.com/en/personal/fees/

then the flat fee EUR 2.95

hihihihi. If you go to the hospital when you're dehydrated (when you need medical help) they give you water and a solution with it (some medical thing, not gatorade or coconut milk or beer) with an IV drip.

This is fun though

This is the email I got from Kasikorn

Quote:
According to your enquiry regarding about to transfer funds from overseas to Kasikornbank account, we would like to inform you that the correspondent bank will charge the sender of funds thus the charge rate will depend on the conditions of the correspondent bank. The beneficiary will also be charged by Kbank on the rate of 0.25% of the transferred amount (minimum 200 baht and maximum 500 baht)

Please note that, if you transfer to the account that already existing, the currency will be changed into Thai baht automatically. In addition, to transfer to branches outside Bangkok and vicinity, there will be additional fees, which are leased line fee of 20 baht per transaction, and 10 baht for each 10,000 baht transferred (minimum 10 baht and maximum 750 baht).
so 0.25% + whatever their telex rate differs from xe.com rate + 20 baht + 10 baht per 10k if outside BKK, if I'm deciphering it correctly (and if it's correct info )

Spiv are you trolling flat out or having a psychotic lapse?

Hospitals will re-hydrate people intravenously with sterile saline/dextrose. They vary the ratio of dextrose/salt depending on the patients needs but they need to know exactly what is in the water for legal reasons. So they start with distilled water and add exact quantities of salt and/or dextrose. I can't imagine the logistics of quality control analysis of fresh whole coconut water on a large scale, plus having to re-sterilize the juice after cracking the coconuts.
It was simply a proof of principle and a demonstration of quality to point out that you can pump large quantities of coconut water directly into your veins and be all the healthier for it.

For all us regular folks who live in Thailand where coconuts are falling all over the place and vendors are practically giving them away, it remains the best drink to re-hydrate yourself. So it's excellent for hangovers, when you're sick, and when you're exercising and sweating a ton in this hot climate. I buy them in 10 pack pack bags and keep a mountain of them in my house. They don't spoil so I don't have to walk down to the market every time I want one and risk getting identified as a cliche hipster. That would be super super embarrassing

Gatorade is kool-aid with a dash of salt and you're a sucker if you pay 90b/bottle for it and think it's a great re-hydration formula. If a nurse at a hospital gives you a glass of some cheap sugary drink like that it's because that's their budget and everybody knows hospital food sucks in general.

If I remember correctly, coconut water is the only thing in nature that you can take intravenously. It's basically just like blood plasma and this has been done during emergencies in the south Pacific islands. The stuff is a straight up superfood.

I love coconuts. Best thing in Thailand after soapies.

I get tesco to deliver 10 every week.

Also spiv is not a hipster, but he sweet talks 40 year old dark bar women on Samui on a daily basis or when his 5$ grind allows him to.
