Bangkok Dental Hospital is very good, with huge range of Dentists whether it be Dentist, Orthodontist, Oral Surgeon etc. and the service is very good.

It is a part of Bangkok Hospital, and is on Petchaburi Rd. Couldn't suggest it more highly.

My 2cents on Udon Thani/near Laos border area:

I've spent a few months on/off there this past year. Cheap town to be in, harder to find exciting places by Bangkok/Phuket/CM standards, but kind of the heart/crossroads of Isaan. A prefered town for bar girls to tell you where they are from, so something in that. People don't seem to have attitudes towards foreigners as there are not enough coming through there to disrupt Thai ways. I've seen more free Thai entertainment/superstars there than anywhere, if that is your thing. The tuk-tuk drivers are not ripoff artists, and everything is relaxed NE style.

The 'irish bar' that is refered in the previous posts probably is:
Irish Clock is a clean hotel, with good beds, free wifi, nice bar/friendly staff. 800-1000baht/night. It's on the main road of other farang/expat bars. puts you right in the middle of everything anyone on here is seeking and all walkable.

Many decent hotels in area of 350+baht for the basic room, wifi, etc..

Night Market/UD Town have a good variety of NE Thai food options/market wares to satisfy anyone needs (for a few days).

Near Central Mall is the Centara hotel which is one of the 2 swankest place in town with rooms at 1500+baht/night. They have a quality clean breakfast/lunch/dim sum buffet and western food options.

Also near Central Mall for a good foot/thai massage- I recommend Angel's Massage 100baht/hr. (try a 4-6handed massage?), has free wifi access. A few bars across the street from Angels have good food options, billiards, respectfully priced drinks, too.

Air Asia flies to/from Bangkok & Phuket, easy to get to Laos border crossing, etc..

English is spoken/understood by enough people that doesn't hinder travel.

Thx
Bangkok is not flooded, everything seems to be working fine. I'm on Sukhumvit currently, and no standing water.

I ll be in front of the harbor in chalong, i guess i ll take my ex landlord cdma to test the signal before buying my own cdma.

On another noter i spent 2 months in karon without a motorbike, but now that i ll move to chalong that will be a huge pain in the ass if i dont get one. I have no driving licence at all and i d like to get a thai motorbike driving licence but information on the internet are pretty confusing , i think someone posted his experience about getting a driving licence in that thread but i cant find it again.
I have a tourist visa and according to many sites they dont allow you to get a driving licence with that visa , but on a few sites they say you can so now i m confused, i met guy today that told me he help people for a living in thailand and when i asked him about the driver licence he started ********ing me about getting one by paying some money under the table, at first he told me 4K and 2 min later that became 8K which obviously sound like a huge scam considering a legit one is like 50 bath and almost no paperwork

I am looking for a nice 4+bedroom villa on phuket in December. Is Katamanda still a good place with a nice view? last time i have been there, a lot of construction work was going on. 2years ago.

unless they are building a lot inside katamanda i dont think there is a problem. they finished the condo project in front of katamanda a long time ago

let us know how close to 10k/day(if 10k is even enough) you are paying there in december

so why did you guys end up in Thailand as opposed to a place closer to the west like, say, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Aruba?

i mean, those places have amazing beaches, weather, and lots of girls.

is it because you prefer Asian women? is it because of the high crime in the Latin America? is it because the nightlife is better?

i mean, i'm sitting here looking at flights and it's 3 1/2 hours direct flight to the caribbean but like a gazillion hour journey to thailand. beaches look about the same and cost of living seems similar. just trying to figure out what it is about thailand i'm missing. housing looks nicer in phuket though and from my experience in nyc with people from the islands - we have tons - they aren't friendly whereas thai people are probably friendlier/more hospitable.
