Except CR spends no time in the gym. Sorry bro, your "theory" is broken

I think you could say the same thing about any profession, DF. The ideal situation for a career is when you enjoy going to work every day. Sure, you might not love every minute of it (and I'm 100% sure bodybuilders aren't loving every minute of training either), but it's a passion and an enjoyable experience.

I'd still call it work though. Work =/= pain/boredom/etc. Work can be enjoyable.

ITT we nit out the difference between work and hard work.

Mornin aspy bros.

No morning can ever be good when someone sees a situation slightly differently than you do.

That's why I added those caveats about "looking great" or "performing at an elite level." Obv Joe Blow that hates working out but wants to look good so he takes steroids as a shortcut to make his delts pop because he wants to actually spend less time working out is a different story.

I have no problem calling it work, but I think then you have to be careful when you say "look at all the hard work they put in" in a way that implies they deserve additional props for doing it. Props are given to those who grit it out and do something they dislike because it somehow pays off in a different way. Good for those lucky enough to have achieved vocation = vacation, but they can't pretend that it isn't the case and then ask for additional praise just because they know 99% of their audience doesn't recognize that they actually get utility from what they do. That's just ego masturbation.

Anyway, I gotta take the hit for starting such a nitty discussion, hopefully it dies.

He probably just saw some recent photos in your log and got confused and thought you were Dids, honest mistake.

I don't get that post either, it's a reach to make the dids connection, but I am raging all the same.

Speaking of Aspy, I watched the pilot of "The Bridge" (on FX?).

A main character supposedly has Aspergers. Most annoying **** ever to watch. Just comes across as a lady who can't act. Didn't even make it one episode. Due to non-Aspergers OCD, I may have to still watch the entire season just to make sure I don't like it. ****.

I was just trying to think of which politards regular would be the most rustling for kc to be compared to, and he fits for a number of reasons

Obviously I get what people mean when they say that steroids alone don't do everything and you shouldn't downplay the amount of actual gym work that has to take place. But I have a suspicion that most people that look great or perform at an elite level enjoy that exertion the same way I do. So steroids really just allow them to have more fun in the gym and do it more often.

I guess my point is that if you're at that level, the additional days/sets/reps/weight that steroids require for optimal efficacy probably aren't really viewed as a sacrifice by the person using them. They may defend themselves by saying "look at all the sacrifices I make, the amount of time I spend working out, etc" to elevate themselves in the eyes of the layperson, but it's bull****. They want to be there.
So someone who does well in school but enjoys learning shouldn't be recognized for their effort?

Or someone who signs a major league baseball contract but also actually enjoys playing baseball?

Or someone who wins at poker but enjoys the game so much they study hh's and reads books and participates in poker message boards about strategy?

Subtle troll is subtle bro.

They may get utility from time spent in the gym, but there is no way they get utility from the diet they must have.

Okay trying to recover asap from whatever aids I currently have. Just went to costco and bought vitamin c, dayquil, nyquil and costco pseudoephedrine. Also bought 2 slices of costco pizza. Ate 1. Could not taste. It's a sad day e-bros. Saved the other slice for later...something I have never done in my life.

Now I'm home with nothing to do. Any good netflix suggs?

Allinturn beat me too it,

But i am sure if you asked bodybuilders what part of their 'job' they hated the most, it would be the dieting, not the hours spent in the gym.

Also need to get better bc I have a date on Saturday with this one:

Spoiler:

She squats, she's a dork, and she's awesome. Really hope it goes well.

FWIW,

i look at KC in a much more favorable light than Dids. That guy is so annoying, he tries to center every single discussion about college football into a discussion about Washington State. How narcissistic must you be to think anyone else gives a **** about one of the worst football programs in FBS just because it is your favorite team. Infuriating.

i don't really follow politics, especially during football season, but it is not clear to me which side we should be supporting, the current regime which only seems interested in killing its own people, or the opposition which is more interested in killing Americans and Jews.
09-05-2013 , 12:18 PM
BtM, it's ok.

I have been watching SoA on Netflix, it's not bad. I'm into it. It's not great.

If you are KC-level artsy, check out Holy Motors. I really liked it. Only for fancies. One of those film nerds, I forget who they are itt, may come in and loco me about it though. Maybe save it for a date that you are trying to impress with your mind tricepts.

I mean kids and school are a little different because the encouragement they receive is directly related to how much they enjoy participating in the activity.

But otherwise, yes. I will appreciate an athlete's prowess but why would I laud them for investing the time to get there when they would've done it regardless of whether there was a fat contract at the end of the tunnel or not. Where does this need for the world to be one huge love fest come from? Why would I celebrate you for doing something you enjoy that also benefits you? How low do we need to set the bar for achievement? Why do we need 6th grade graduations, or high school graduations for that matter? At what point do we start honestly congratulating each other for successfully rubbing one out?

I'm a firm believer of not sugar coating anything and self-motivation through awareness of your own inadequacies. I think that is pretty well documented on this subforum, and occasionally (though definitely not always) it is appreciated.

The diet they must have. Are you kidding me? What part of smashing 4000 calories a day and completely ignoring macronutrients because your caloric expenditure and AAS usage render them obsolete sounds difficult and arduous to you?

Short of bodybuilders in contest prep mode I think I'd gladly trade my diet for any elite athlete's.

I just finished the new Lee Child Jack Bauer Reacher novel. Jesus, these are terrible. I love them though, what can I do? Go rogue, I guess.

I read the first one and thought it was awesome. I started the 2nd one but it was in the third person instead of the first and stopped after like 20 pages. Are any of the third person ones good?
