I mean kids and school are a little different because the encouragement they receive is directly related to how much they enjoy participating in the activity.
But otherwise, yes. I will appreciate an athlete's prowess but why would I laud them for investing the time to get there when they would've done it regardless of whether there was a fat contract at the end of the tunnel or not. Where does this need for the world to be one huge love fest come from? Why would I celebrate you for doing something you enjoy that also benefits you? How low do we need to set the bar for achievement? Why do we need 6th grade graduations, or high school graduations for that matter? At what point do we start honestly congratulating each other for successfully rubbing one out?
I'm a firm believer of not sugar coating anything and self-motivation through awareness of your own inadequacies. I think that is pretty well documented on this subforum, and occasionally (though definitely not always) it is appreciated.

The diet they
must have. Are you kidding me? What part of smashing 4000 calories a day and completely ignoring macronutrients because your caloric expenditure and AAS usage render them obsolete sounds difficult and arduous to you?
Short of bodybuilders in contest prep mode I think I'd gladly trade my diet for any elite athlete's.
