Souldad is stable. Currently getting monitored/tested for possible bypass operation, probable conclusion tomorrow. It's dependent on the infarction not having caused too much damage. So it's mostly a good thing if he can be operated (it'll mean normal function is restored to the infarct area), but on the other hand it's a pretty rough operation and he's got some complicating factors.

Keeping my mom on her feet, the extended family informed and visiting/propping up my dad who's feeling pretty depressed while being really stressed at work is rough going guys, but I'm doing it. Don't have the energy to lift ATM, though I'll consider going today if I feel better after crashing on the couch for a while.

ETA: some improvement from initial estimates of infarction damage, which apparently isn't uncommon. Prognosis at this point is leaning towards the damaged area being permanently necrotic, i.e. no point in a bypass, but tomorrow's test will try to determine that. Exactly what that will mean for his quality of life is uncertain at this point. I know I'll be much more involved in his training regimen, whatever that will look like.

gl Herr Souldad. The good news I guess is that Sweden has some of the best medical facilities in the world.

Yeah, luckily our city has some of the best cardiac surgeons in the country. The guy who did the ultrasound yesterday is among the best in Europe. Etc.

Some good news today. They performed a stress ultrasound on the Soulfather yesterday. Turns out the damage to the heart isn't as bad as first feared - in fact, it's small enough that he can receive a bypass operation. Essentially, this means the infarction damage will be negated if the bypass operation is successful. The operation itself is fairly routine nowadays, though recovery is pretty rough. Will probably happen this coming Monday.

His last bypass was considered successful, but the infarction happened in the area where the coronary artery was grafted. Hopefully it'll be more successful in the sense that there won't be any degradation over time this time around, but that's pretty much impossible to tell in advance.

Anyways, feeling uplifted and pretty good. Even lifted yesterday, though that felt pretty ****ty as my energy levels weren't very high.
