If you mean the pendlays for 8x285, I believe your comment was not "tons of cheat" but that I wasn't making chest contact throughout.
If you mean the 285 ones I specifically labelled "cheat rows"? Well I suppose you've got me there except;
A) That was 70 lbs short of my best
B) There is an actual purpose to that form of cheating, just like how there's an actual purpose to a push press.
I don't see a purpose to this cheating, which is why I point it out. If you are trying to attack your core, you'd be FAR better off focusing on holding your position and missing the pull by a few inches--and this would actually allow you to progress.
Even in a cheat row, one is supposed to prevent it from becoming a shrug-dive.
