You need to ease into non-vanillas, like do a vanilla+ first or something. Going straight into a mishmash with in thread actions (ITAs) and potions and **** is a bit of a large jump.

I briefly explained how that game sounded to my fiancee and she was like "wow, battle for king of the nerds".

She may or may not be slightly concerned when I check my computer every evening and then go "YES A WOLF. BOOM HEADSHOT" or "NOOOOOOOOOOO WE LYNCHED A VILLAGER"

my first game was a mishmash, no ITAs. zero ****s given. Super fun.

also, i haven't done it in like 8 years but if you get a decent group of friends together, IRL werewolf is really fun (we called it mafia back then). Jimmies reach max rustling threshold.

We played the same thing I think, with like a godfather, assassin, etc. Good drinking game.

Pretty sure you hadn't cleared yourself in the eyes of any villager, but it was still too risky to let you live given how I was playing this game. I was pretty pissed when I saw lkj let weasel not post for 4 game days and then subbed you in, but we luckboxed you pokering yesterday so whatever.

Yeah my first non mish mash wolf game was in a slow vanilla, brutal adjustment.

You want to random villager in your first vanilla just to get a better feel for how they are played.

On the bright side for you, at least it wasn't Chilltown subbing in

I dunno if Shark was joking or not but the full force of the all father would have been pushin for Montes lynch all day.

It shouldn't even have been an issue -- Weasel should have been modkilled. Would have been pretty rustled if the sub had broken the game in this instance; I was less upset about it when I thought he was the one that asked for the sub, but that turns out not to have been the case.

Yeah me subbing in here would have been kind of cheap and broken the spirit of the game since it is filled with mostly new players.

Hence why I wanted to do it.

No lol. That too. I wanted to be a legit RINGER.

Was a fine game to rail.

Yugo needs to play POG games now.

Agreed. DT too, probably crash, and a bunch others. Good, logical thinkers on this board, not surprising there's some talent.

So that when dt and I are wolves together the village gets an auto win? Lol

kc and I together was an interesting rand too, but we managed to eke it out; you never can tell how these games work out -- that's what makes them fun!

Still rustled?

Eh, I'm unrustled now I guess. I had talked myself into thinking it was a solvable game for the village at about day 4 in most games without awful luck. But, WW is way harder than I thought, .

Thinking of starting a signup thread to start another one next Monday, sound good? Open to discussion of playing something other than vanilla, but vanilla is ok with me, too.

Monte, at whatever point it's appropriate (maybe after another couple of games?) some of us can learn to mod so that we don't have to ask POGtards or you. That said, do you or any of your POGtard friends want to mod the next one?

I just assume POGtards like watching us flailing around like newly born mice or something...but yeah, if this keeps on strong in H&F I guess we should mod our own.

Modding a vanilla is easy; download the vote counter, run vote counts, use the boilerplate rules templates and put in the correct start/end times and all the other stuff, then just make sure no one does anything angleshooty within the game, sub out people if necessary, etc.

Vanilla+ is probably my favorite form of WW; some expanded roles (like angel, roleblocker, vigilantes) are present, but the complete roleset is defined up front. You've got a lot of the good stuff in mish mashes (perhaps random dayvigs shooting people in the face, roles that are claimable) without a lot of the bad stuff (crazy ITAs, no idea what the structure is or how many wolf or neutral teams there are, etc). I'd suggest we run one more 13er, and then try to get a decent sized v+ going (like ~25-30 people). If the carnage is tuned right it should only last a week or so.

Maybe one more vanilla game? There are still a ton of new player mistakes going on, including my own.

Vanilla seems plenty advanced to me. Can't imagine half the players being MIA in a Vanilla+ or Mishmash type game. I'd go on hardcoremonkeyjimmiesallovertilt for sure.
