That Zercher deadlift was one of the biggest examples of FPS in lifting that I've ever seen. To top that I think someone would have to do full power snatches on a swiss ball.

Bizarro23 Yeah I guess it's not the conventional form of a "zercher deadlift" but a variation. Anyways, back injuries are more of a result of going from rounded to hyperextended then just being round. If it is so dangerous how would you then explain stone lifting? 2 years ago

I'm glad there are people too cheap to join gyms, otherwise we wouldn't get videos like this.

Called a manmaker...many videos out there showing different variations. The ones I've done are burpee with a pushup followed by row with each arm while in the down position.

Did 30 of these in the small LV Hilton gym last month (which was surpisingly crowded @ 7:30am on a Saturday.....10+ people in a fitness center, not incl. spa.

It's a good exercise that can work on the road...only db or kb required.

Indian Guy. 5'10' 135
20lb Dumbbell.
Ab exercise where you lean over to one side or whatever.
Holding shirt up with off hand 2 feet from the mirror in order to look at his ab flex as he does the exercise.
Enough Said.

Also, I started "playing" a new game the other day to not get bored between sets. Since people love to stare at themselves no matter how far away from the mirror they are I try and block their view in between sets.

ex. Today a guy was on the GHD/Back extension machine doing some sit-ups making awkward faces/noises with each rep. Floor Layout:

GHD MAChine (Open Space) Squat Rack Mirror

I was squatting in the squat rack and me and my friend were kind of just leaning on it in between sets. This guy would turn his head to the right after every single rep so that he could see his facial expression. It was kind of annoying/creepy so I moved like 6 inches blocking his view. The look on his face during the next rep was one of utter surprise since he could no longer see the gnarled expression on his face. Then on the reps after that he no longer turned his head to the side nor made contorted facial expressions. After the set he seemed visibly upset which made it that much better.

End Jaysick being a d-bag post of the day.

Yeah, but in being a douchebag you prevent someone else being a douchebag...soooo jumping on a grenade? Saving a douche from his inevitable fate maybe? I don't know, but blocking them from looking at themselves is hilarious. I love this story.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. My workout partner got really sick for like 6 days (lost 17lbs or so at the lowest point from his 6'1 180 frame by putting down maybe 1000 calories for the first 4 and along with 20 ounces of water and an IV) and I was getting really bored in between sets so I had to find something to do. He was like my third victim so far and all have reacted in some way.

The Indian Ab Flexer.

The US is a fine place, but goddamn the amount of tooliness going on in your gyms is sicko.

A+ on the mirror blockage, I like doing that myself

Same guy today, doing the same things but decided to load up each side of the bar with 45, 25, 10, 10, 2.5 and 2.5 lb weights. Extra weights of each poundage were available as well as 5 lbs on his smith machine.

Fortunately since I'll be running my own gym here in a few weeks, I can ban all stupid **** in this thread. I might even make it required reading.

Just hand out weekly suspensions for it. You see someone doing something stupid, tell them to pack their **** and come back and try it again in a week

Oh, so you're gonna be there 24/7 to block dumb crap from happening at your gym?

This **** is so funny to me. People at my gym will be doing the row machine and look like 120 degrees behind them so they can see how raw they are.

Actually... yes. It's a private facility that opens with lock and key and is not accessible to the general public. So... yes. I will be there at all times people are working out.

But nice try anyway.

There's really not going to be much on the list. Off the top of my head:

1) You have to wear a shirt. No tank tops. This is not CrossFit. You can go shirtless when we do sledgehammer strikes and sled pushes/pulls or whatever outside. Vitamin D is good for you. But no squatting without a shirt on.

2) Do not drop iron plates in the clean on my platform.

3) If you do not deadlift, GTFO.

4) Do not rack my Eleiko bar. EVER.

But that's about it. For now. More to come, I am sure.

How many people train there at a time? How big is the facility? Are you just training people or are you like watching the place for a certain amount of hours?

What was I trying to do again?
