Old fat ****** who drinks a pitcher of iced tea and wears his belt throughout the whole workout is doing deadlifts. I'm working out at a community center for a few weeks, so it's all old ****ers in there. There's two rooms with a door between them, one with machines and cardio and another with a rack and free weights. He's the only other person in the freeweights room with me. He can only dl like 235 with bad form and no warmups, obv. He must be close to 250-260lbs, morbidly obese and short. It's my deadlift day today too. He leaves to the machines room(without unracking the barbell he was using, of course) and closes the door behind him. I finish my warmups. As I'm 2 and a half reps through my workset he storms into the room and says "Stop slamming the weights, that's not weightlifting." Of course I'm in the middle of a heavy set and I have my earbuds in so I just ignore him and soldier on. I'm clearly pretty strained here and I know this isn't going to be good. He runs up while I'm in the middle of the 4th rep and rips one of earbuds out and yells "THAT'S NOT WEIGHTLIFTING, STOP SLAMMING THE WEIGHTS!!", right in my ear.

Of course at this point I'm pretty livid with this idiot. The floors are completely padded and this fat ********** was deadlifting with some of the worst form ever. I get in his face and scream back at him, "SHUT THE **** UP YOU FAT ****. YOU'RE A ****ING MORON. DON'T **** WITH ME WHILE I'M DOING MY SET."

Then the weight room attendant, a lady in her 50s or 60s with gigantic fake tits, walks in and tells me to get out of the weight room (wtf you didn't see **** bitch, the door was closed you're just automatically gonna side with this white geriatric?). I'm banned from that community center weight room now.

Great story huh guys? I hope they both get runover by an airplane.

Wow. First time in a long time I've actually been stirred to an emotion (anger) by a random gym anecdote.

I really hate the old guy in your story. What was his reaction when you yelled at him? Do you think he realized he had really crossed a line or does he think you were the one with the problem?

grab a titty with the left hand and knock the dude out with the right. woman realizes how much of a young stallion you are and takes you to the back room and rides on you like only a 56 year old woman can. all resulting in a much better gym observations on 2+2 post.

I don't understand what you mean by the sag thing. Their feet where in contact with the bench and never moved. It was completely pointless.

But yes my favorite part of this thread is when people inadvertently insult real exercises like inverted rows.
I wasn't insulting inverted rows. Just the way they were doing them. Like most insults on this thread, its someone doing a legit exercise in a ******ed manner.

Just talk to whoever banned you or the owner and explain the situation. If thats not possible put it in writing. What the guy did was completely unacceptable not to mention dangerous and your reaction was absolutely standard in that situation. If anything he should be the one who is banned.

I personally do inverted rows on a slight downward angle so I need the bench to make sure my back and legs don't touch the floor. But obviously if you're doing it at an upward angle it doesn't really matter that much.

my new favorite person came in today. caved in shoulders, pulled down neck, pedo stache. basically reverse curled 225 after warming up with 180lb speed machine shrugs that he strapped in for.

**** you, grammar nazis. i know that sentence is horrible.

saw the strangest girl the other day at the gym. She wore sweat pants, a scarf, long sleeve shirt(the under armor breathable type) gloves, and wears a towel over her head, another one covering her face.. I saw glimpes of her face, she's caucasion and looks mildly attractive, but almost impossible to tell with her face being covered up.

All while doing about 10 sets of calf raises on the leg press machine.

WTF???!!!

So curling in the squat rack is a huge douche move, but what about deadlifting kinda in it?

The reason I ask is because the gym I go to has 2 squat racks and 1 powercage and there is absolutely no where set aside to do deadlifts whatsoever.

Sadly deadlifts are so seldom done in gyms this can't be a unique situation can it?

Last time I was there the gym was pretty close to empty so I had no problem in simply doing my deadlifts right outside the squat rack since there was an open space there and the bar was right there anyway.

If there's no platform deadlifting in front of one of the racks is standard.

when i had a membership at a 24 hr chain i deadlifted right in the power cage since that was the only place to do it and no one else ever used the power cage (except to curl or do upright row)
