I think it was more specifically like "lol saw" or something.

But yeah, it was shot down mainly b/c then everyone would be on the top list of everything at all times it seemed. The idea of weight classes was also thrown out for that reason.

There is still plenty of room on several lists that simply don't have many participants...but one day I would like to submit chinups since that is likely the only list I'll ever belong on. Not talking top 3, just be on it, .

Intentional?

Seriously though, isn't saw hands down wilks winner and it's not even close if we take his last meet #s and weight? Maybe KRS?

fakebusto,

You do realize that using Wilks would be bad for you relative to people that aren't housecat sized, right?

Wilks alone, MAYBE. But we will make it a combination of factors. Wilks+cardio endurance+bf%+bloodwork. 25% earned for each category. I take on all comers.

Probably need to make Wilks only 20%. So easy to pack on pounds and strength. GOMADders are basically cheating. One level beneath steroids.

saw is a favorite if he can ever get over his injuries. Until then he is DQd. Sorry saw. You know I am rooting for you.

Obviously I was saying that Wilks is worse for him than using strength relative to weight, which he appeared to be taking into account in his bravado.

I'm old and foreign, gimme a break. I thought we were discussing the whiteboard, which I thought didn't have any adjustments whatsoever. Haven't visited the thread in forever though.

We can use strength relative to weight too. Let's make it five categories. Wilks will be included for the big boys who lift big and want to feel like they had a chance in the competition.

I thought the purpose of wilks was for this very reason - to normalize performance across strength and bodyweight? But it's better for heavier ppl? I'm confused.

...yeah dafuq?

Wiki says:

Quote:
The Wilks Coefficient places a greater emphasis on absolute strength, rather than ranking lifters solely based on the relative strength of the lifter compared to bodyweight. This creates an even playing field between light and heavyweight lifters—the lighter lifters tend to have a higher relative strength level in comparison to the heavyweight lifters, who tend to have a greater amount of absolute strength.

Regarding all this other stuff, how did the discussion jump from bench press to cardio & blood work?

fakebusto - maybe you should have an ab wheel from feet competition.

Now come on fredd, I have been among the first to criticize my squats. They are getting better but they are still a far sight from acceptable. I am shooting for 250lb strong reppers in 2014 but at this point actually think I might be a dog. You've got me there.

cha,

If we are going to make this a srs competition then of course we need to include cardio and bloodwork, not just bench. It would be dishonest to say the most fit H&Fer is simply the one who can lift the most.

Let's not be huge nits here, Montebro. Clearly I meant that they could compete, just that they couldn't compete.

Wilks just makes it so it is not directly body weight divided by weight lifted. Because it is obviously easier for a 150 lb guy to squat 300 then it is for a 300 lb guy to squat 600

If the 150 guy is fakebusto it's probably easier for the 300 lber to squat 600, honestly

Well, we can test that theory when you do your 1RM tests in a few weeks I guess. I'll be interested in the results.

Me too. I better get some good excuses prepared, just in case.

My shoulder was giving me trouble today. My hips too. Hopefully they don't develop into debilitating injuries. I'd hate to have to delay the comp.

Psh, age adjusted....

(just playin' Cha, you know I hold you in high esteem)

Seriously though if you wanna add a whiteboard slot for some kind of overall category, that may be something to bring up in the whiteboard thread. I'm sure lots of people would have strong opinions and good ideas.
