Jesus Christ. 16". 16.75"!!! WTF. WTF. WTF. Listen, just help me understand one thing.

Spoiler:
How are your arms so hyooge but your upper body lifts less than mine?

Spoiler:

Measure all bodyparts cold, first thing in the morning.

There is surprisingly decent fluctuation throughout the day. Waist increases about 3/4" throughout the day. And arms can be over an inch bigger with a pump.

You guys also check the accuracy of your measuring tape. I had been measuring assuming mine was 100% accurate. Quick look confirmed it was missing the first inch. I can't even guess why they made it like that. But it was devastating when I found out my hyooge 15" arms are actually 14". Devastating.

So your measurements were all done cold loco? Yeesh. I might have more work to do than I thought. New measurements to come cold, first thing in the morning.

I did mine with string a few months ago and then measured the string. I dunno if it was pre or post workout, but I'll measure tomorrow morning just to see where I'm at now.

Yugo is full of ****. I'm 14.5-15 relaxed-flexed.

Unrustle those jimmies saw. Yugo is fat as fack. Of course his arms are bigger.

And it's not like he carries any weight in his lower body; it's all arms and neck beard.

I guess I have to measure the guns tonight to see, although I will say that the wifeacore thinks they've gotten a fair bit smaller on the cut. Definitely seeing dem veinz though.

Your measurements have decreased as you've lost a ton of BF? Tell us more.

Shocking, isn't it? Almost as shocking as Yugo apparently having a giant set of guns, but hey, **** happens.

Now that I'm rustling jimmies and 16" is actually quite nice, I will go measure more accurately. Again, I was measuring thinking that 17" is what I wanted to see, so it was hard to see the # through all of the tears when I saw it was more like 16".

I also did not measure the tape measure. I cannot imagine it's missing the first inch (wtf? lol) but it's not super trivial to measure your own bicep at the correct spot while flexing and such.

I'll try it flexed and unflexed.

Btw, it seems totally reasonable my arms could be decent sized and I'm weak as F - arms don't do ****. Cha has told me 2342343 times big tris = big bench. My tris are my best body part, hands down I'm pretty sure and my bench is weak as **** and always has been.

The one thing I'm not jellydick at is apparently chinups. Notice how I'm not bragging about pullups ever...it's b/c ain't no arms on pullups - chins are likely the only thing they're helping me with. We'll see...if I really am 16" based on incoming measurements I probably should retire from doing anything but bis/tris and just go pro in that.

Confused. Cha says big tris= big bench. Tris are your best body part. Yet you cannot bench?

You can have massive tris and they still be fairly weak. It's genetics.
Look at syndrom's pecs. Elite yet pretty mediocre bench. He might be able to bench Bodyweight probably like 6 times, tops. Especially since he is all banged up from the shoulders. And it's not like his DB Bench is any good either.

Tris being your best body part =/= tris being big. HTH.

Yeah yeah, that's what I'm saying. One might think I should be able to do upper body stuff from looking at my arms but, meh.

Anyway, just tried to measure again. 14" relaxed with arm out straight. 15.5" flexed with my arm curled. Haven't lifted anything today heavier than my mouse.

I have no idea how much pump one gets but .5"+ pump seems reasonable.

Also, keep in mind these are #s based on me measuring my own arm, which seems dicey at best - the damn thing slips out of my hand half the time anyway. I'm not really sure how saw is getting 14.5-15 when I'm getting such a huge swing between flexed/relaxed. Although, I've never looked like I have muscle until I flex to some degree. Not sure what that's about, I assumed it was like that for everyone. Maybe just fatties.

Oh my relaxed was still arm bent, that def changes a lot. I'm also measuring pretty imprecisely myself as well though, so whatever.

Strong shoulders can make up for a tricep deficit to a degree....and conversely take away if they aren't up to snuff for what the tri's are doing.

OHP as both primary and a bench assist.

9/10/13
Weight room full, reversed workout until it emptied

Pull ups (wide strict, 2 minute rests)
Bw
X12x3
X9

Ab wheel (standing, close stance, 1 minute rest)
X10x2

Bench
45x10
135x5+ pac
165x3+ Pac
195x3
220x1
225x1
225x4
225x5
225x4

Just scared on bench without a spotter. 5th rep on second set didn't feel like it would fail but it was a huge grind.

Squat
45x10 +pause at ground
135x5 +pag
165x3x3+ pag
185x3x3
165x10

Trying out pausing at the ground and EXPLODING out of the whole. Felt good. Felt great.

But knees still shaky at 185. Fack. Don't want to have to reset again but this is frustrating.

Pendlay rows
45x10
95x5
125x3
145x3
165x3
165x5x2

Finally rowing bw brahhhhhhssssssss

RDL
225x8x2

Not typing up warm-up for those.

Ugh, huge mistake at gym. I've had some short back and forths with a guy at the gym. He has great form. Sometimes we spot each other. Today I tried talking to him about my programming, ie Texas Method. That was stupid. He launched a mountain of bro science at me. Not even a discussion. Nothing but preaching. So disappointing.

When he told me not to get my advice from things like Men's Health, I tried moving the conversation to actual science, saying I wouldn't trust something unless they have the research to back up their claims. He said yeah, sometimes you gotta go back to the basics. Wtf???!!

Learned my lesson. Again. Most I will say to someone at the gym is, "Hello, May I have a spot?"

I see you're close to the mythical 3x5x225 level -- nice work.

Are you doing a volume/intensity split for bench, or just ****ing around? Because it looks like the latter to me.

Eh? I'm just ****ing around this week while I reconfigure my TM programming, but I don't see how you'd know that from what I posted today.

Worst part about the bro science spotter was when he insisted you could fuel protein synthesis eating sub-100 grams brotein. Lol lol lol

Well I can't recall you ever doing anything that looks like an intensity day, so that's why I asked. Also 3x5x225 is probably topping out your benching ability, and is therefore likely to be too heavy for volume day if you're doing a volume/intensity split.

But keep on keeping on.

Oh. Yep. This is the top of my bench range. I messed up my programming quickly and now I am the dreaded volume warrior. Reconfiguring. Sadderday I'm checking maxing out 1RMs. Hoping to get at least 245x1 bench/225x1 squat/325x1 deadlift.

If I hit those numbers we can go ahead and set EOY 2014 goals at bench 250+x5/squat 300x5/deadlift 375x5. Already going to have top 3 h&f bench by EOY 2013. If we give appropriate weighting to bf (75% of your score) I might have a shot at 2014 Golden Loco for most fittest H&Fer!!!!!!!
