Wow, I think the elf's reading retention skills are rubbing off on your hearing retention skills. No wonder your bench hasn't been going up.

Ehh, I only get to see Cha once a week. But yeah, my hearing is probably suspect.

I wonder if fakebusto would be lifting a ton more if he was actually capable of retaining and using information, or if most of his success can be attributed to his savant-like naivete that allows him to believe each of the "new" things he figures out are truly revolutionary concepts that should add 50 lbs to each of his major lifts.

Given his rate of progress without going full GOMTARD, I would be on the top of the barricades shouting creatine if he did much better than he's already doing.

Have had a light cold the last few days, but aside from feeling tired it didn't appear to affect anything too terribly.

Bench
265x3x2

Shockingly easy. Felt like I had a fourth rep on the first set.

Squat
265x5x2
265x5 (+3)

I pussed out. Or congratulated myself too early. Had one to two more. I'm sick. Give me a break.

Then did 225x10. Was thinking of doing 15 but figured 10 was already overkill after 265. I was doing them after previous sets because I wasn't hitting any extra reps. Might be too much volume?

Weighted pull ups
+55x5x3

Weighted dips
+120x5x3

BB row
105x5x3

Floating planks
:15x5

You reset your squats? Wtf. How many sessions did you try 290? You got 4 last time, right - you should just pretend you're not loco and put up 5 instead of going back to 265.

Fwiw after I do squats I sometimes try 225x?. I get like 5-8. Lol. Maybe I will just say it's b/c I'm so spent on my work sets.

Anyway, since I mentioned to my wife that I was desperately trying to stay ahead of you in squats she keeps asking me (every time she sees me on 2p2): "has Fake Busto passed you in squats yet?" Not "Still dominating that little tinyelf with the vests?"

Ygos,

I tried twice. I would have tried a third time if the second attempt had come close. Barely hit parallel, hard to keep my chest up, and I couldn't hit close to 5 reps each set. I ate like a gorilla on the days leading up to the second attempt and took long long long rests between sets.

I only reset to 265. I'll be back at 290 and hopefully beyond in a few weeks.

Well, maybe. I'm scheduled to hit 290 the week before I go on vacation, and I'm pretty sure there will be no lifting at all during that week. Too much hiking and cardio. Tell your wife your masculinity is safe for another month or so. Better say two since I'm sure you will continue to make your own progress.

Hey, I'm watching The Price of Gold, the documentary about the Olympic ice skater Tanya Harding taking a baseball bat to her competitor's knees. Getting some ideas.

Squat
270x5x2
270x5 (+2)

I was hoping for an easy 8 so as to manifest more obvious relative strength than last time I squatted this weight. Think 8 would have been the max, and there was a chance of failure, so I stopped. I guess I ultimately feel like going to failure on the extra reps isn't worth it.

Bench
235x5x5

RDL
245x8x3

Chins
+85x5x3

Face pulls
15x2

Ab wheels (standing feet closed)
10x2

You need 992 to qualify for nationals in Vegas. There is a meet near you in May.
Take it down bro.

992 would be a cakewalk these days. Deadlift took me clear over 1k. IDK. I wouldn't want to go alone. Need some H&F brothers with me.

I am out. Even if my training goes well, will be short by about 30 pounds.

Oh that's right. I meant just for the qualifying meet near me. But I could probably man up for that.

Link to details about the Vegas meet?

He needs to qualify first. Nationals requires classII.

Yeah. I'm assuming he'll crush qualifying, though.

Heck, (I'm pretty sure) even I could do it after my cut.

I'd get smoked by all the strong 198s at the nationals, though.

LOL at me not crushing 992 for a class II. LOLOLOLOLOL. Not sure about class I though. 1131 total by May?!! Now that's worth a $2k wager.

Where do you live FB? aura?

You only need a class II total at your local meet to qualify for nationals. You'd need a class I total at either your local meet or at nationals in July to qualify for IPL worlds in November. Weasel needs 1399, which is a few more lbs than he got at the last IPL worlds to qualify this year. I only need 1289 because of my age. I should crush that at my local meet.

Cha - Chances of being Master class before you hit the next age barrier? Seems like if you stay healthy you are a lock just by waiting around a bit, .

cha,

I'm in the Peach state.

I would hit class 2 easy, but I think I might be a slight dog to hit class 1 by July. I'd need to add about 100lbs to my total.

GL at your qualifier. I'm sure you'll crush it, too.

Slight dog to add 100 pounds in 5 months? Huge lol.

This guy thinks pounds are like apples at the orchard. Oh here is 5. Here is another 6. 7 over here. 100? No problem, let me pick em up real fast.

loco,

Consistent linear progression probably doesn't seem like a reality to someone like you who program hops every 6 weeks. I leave it to you to do further research.

FB,

Not sure a meet could withstand the combined power of FB+fB
