Day 6
Sun 8/10/14, 3pm home gym, lifted in kg, bw 254

kg / lbs

Hang Snatch
75 / 165 x3x2
88 / 195 x3x2
100 / 220 x2x2

Clean & Jerk
94 / 205 x3+1
109 / 240 x2+1x2
123 / 270 x1+1x1
133 / 293 x1+1x1
145 / 320 x 1+F x 2
First one was a grinder and the clean sucked which didn't give me much chance on the jerk, second one was an ok clean and close miss on jerk. Watching on video, very close actually. Not a PR clean (150 would be, I think I am good for 150), but close and a PR at this lower bodyweight.
145 / 320 x f
Tried a third and my arm touched my knee so I dumped it rather than do a stupid grind again.

Vid of 2nd clean:

Back Squat
144 / 315 x4x2
Was supposed to squat more, but I stopped here. Between grinding the first 145 clean, upcoming volume being very high, my glute felt tight. Just tired overall too.

Here's the 88+ snatch triples and 100 doubles and the clean + jerk (attempts) over 133.

Before your ninja delete about the clean: 1) I was just tired and I did touch my knee 2)I have this thing where I disengage my hamstrings (ETA:?) and let my butt tuck under (I think this happens when I think I need to get under or back or something), I can't figure it out. I need to stop it. I did the same things on my OHS, and it's ****ing ridiculous that I couldn't OHS 140. I should just quit.

Don't hold back. I want to get better and I really do welcome criticism and I'm deep enough in daily **** of just getting through this program that I want stuff to be pointed out.

Excellent lifting music. Nothing gets me riled up like Elliot Smith.

Spoiler:

Sick lifts tho. Love the speed on those snatches.

You totally will hit that 320 C&J vvvv soon. You were there bro.

Thanks. I try not to get riled lately. It's working ok. Sometimes I still get riled.

Getting real tired of your all-time PRing ****. Well, at least I front squat more than you (for now).

You should be safe. 1)I am an adult and the bar has to travel further and below parallel. 2)The only time I squat for quite a while is after these ****ing crazy ass volume days. I will probably go insane prior to front squatting 185 or whatever your PR is. Maybe 2015. 3)I am old and there's always the chance that my hip falls off of my body or that cha was right and my head pops off on a btn rerack after a jerk.

This was correct. Hurt my back/hip/something today during warmup. I actually think I probably loosened something up when I was stretching my shoulders pre-workout, then on my first snatch reps with weight (after maybe 30 without weight) my hip/back really hurt. Idk. Seems like a lesser version of my earlier injury this year, hopefully a few days is all this needs. We'll see. For now, injury depression. and over reaction seems appropriate.

ty. I am hopeful it's nothing or just a strain again. I did do a few things from the NNM stuff I'd learned/done, so at least rehab started immediately.

Oh I forgot to log my pullups, too.

5 sets of 3 of pullups, modification: done while looking very sad

It's actually possible I hurt this in some minor way on Sunday (talked about my glute being tight) and just successfully ignored it on Monday, although front squatting was no problem, so probably not.

You know, a few day (or year) deload won't hurt me anyway. My right shoulder felt tight in a new way, my right elbow was sore, my right wrist hurt in a way that was not just sore but actually painful. All this stuff was new this week or worse versions of something that I'd thought was minor.

I am wondering if a more specific diagnosis or imaging is in order for the low back though, given that it's a recurrence and not the first time for this. My PT gave me the name of a good nonsurgical MD that specializes in sports injuries. I may have to go have a talk with him if this lasts more than a couple of days.

Sucks man. Hope it is minor and works out easily. Might be time to switch to powerlifting.

Oly lifting is hard ****ing work and most people just look at you like you're a huge ****ing tryhard ******* or just a ****** in general. Then loco calls you a fat dyel. Then you get some injuries and just feel like giving up.

Don't go to the darkside! You could end up being way better than freddbird at this, imo.
