The shirt today is the same I did 190 in back in august, only weighing 2-3 kg less back then.

Lets try to bump this old thing going into Nationals equipped bench ultimo November.

First off bad excuses, had a lot of time off lifting, December 2015 I was able to do a couple of reps with 60 kg in the bench. I've started squatting and deadlifting again this week, so those numbers are low, bc, well, I'm weak...

Last 2 times 110 kg at weigh in, IPF. I need to either loose 5 kg for 105 class or gain 10. to fill out 120 class.

9 holes of golf in 70 mins tonight, lower back complained a bit.

Range 1 hour with golfing pro. He fixed my swing so I hit 20-30 meters longer with PW and almost out of the range with driver :-) Had 3 years break from golf, so fun when it works out.

You & I might be the only people with current logs in here that bench in a shirt.

I have always lifted at 242. I only lifted once in USAPL (IPF) when I was raw. I've lifted in USPA and UPA since switching to gear. Since I learned switched to lifting in gear, I've only lifted as a multiply lifter, but I've only able to use a single ply shirt in a meet so far. I still havent touched and pressed anything in my tight two ply shirt - I need to get better and do that in a meet someday.

Are you going to compete in squatting and DL too, or just bench?

Its good to see you posting again.

How is multiply compared to IPF shirts?

Katana scoop is like 1,5 ply compared to the old shirts imo

If I beat my old numbers I might consider competing full meets again, squat raw/equip 157,5/230, deadlift 200 kg. So both very beatable. Bench will be main focus though. But I have an eye on a meet this spring since the is a huge gap between shirted meets from early february to sept here with no single bench meet. Also full meet bench record is "only" 267,5 kg here, should be possible at some point, I hope, need raw bench to go up though.

Long story short - I have no advantage using a two ply shirt yet. Long version:

I just got a new Super Katana single ply with a scoop neck, size 48. My old regular Super Katana is size 50. I am intending to use the new one for my 2nd attempts, but its not broken in yet, and I'm not entirely sure what I will be able to touch and press in it yet. I'm hoping ~550-600. I touched 585 to a 2 board and pressed it Sunday, then 585 got stapled to the 1 board because I touched way too low. This shirt needs a lot more breaking in before I can touch and press anything. This shirt is IPF legal I think.

There is a new Titan Evil Twin Psycho shirt that is considered single ply, but it is two plys laminated together. My coach says this should be close to a two ply, but it should be a little easier to touch and a little less supportive than a similar two ply because the two plys do not rub together.

My size 52 two ply is a Rage X. I've touched and pressed 605 to a 1 board once, and done 585 to a 1 board a bunch of times. I tried pulling the collar up and touching 545 to my chest, but that didnt work. Right now, I cant find a happy medium with this shirt. I need to get stronger and break the shirt in a little more. I've had this shirt for a year and a half. I hope to someday use it to touch and press something around 600-650 in a meet.

I do have a size 54 Rage X that I have touched and pressed something slightly above 500 in. I can do more in my size 50 single ply Katana (meet PR 518, gym 535).

As far as single vs multiply squat and DL:

I've never used a single ply squat suit. I squatted 507 raw in a meet a couple years ago. I imagine I could do ~530-550 now if I trained raw for a little while. I squatted 700 multiply in a meet, and 710 and 720 in the gym. My training goal is 788, but I will be happy if I get 750-766 in my next meet. I would guess if I got good in a single ply suit, maybe 650 would be about my max?

DL- my suit is single ply, but it has velcro straps, so it is illegal in single ply meets. I do wear briefs under it. I dont know how much DL gear helps, but its not a lot. My wild guess is it adds ~50 lbs for me. My meet best DL was 705 when I took a token bench and squat due to a shoulder issue, and 678 in a full meet. I would guess using a regular single ply DL suit would get me in a similar range to where I'm at in multiply. The more gear you wear DLing, the more the gear pulls you forward.

What part of the world are you in? If its not obvious by my use of lbs, I'm in the US.

Denmark.

Super Katana Scoop is IPF legal.

I bench in a 46 Super Katana.

I usually can press about 15 kg more from a 2 board than from chest. Pressed 250 kg 3 weeks before last meet and got 235 at the meet.

For squat I have no idea about the new IPF equipment, it is 5+ years since I tried it, and I agree that DL suit dont add a lot either way.

Back in December 2015 my girlfriend pulled me too the powerlifting gym again. I was good for a couple

of reps with 60 kg as my max at that point.

Fast forward to meet day, we got up at 7 in the morning, had to pick up another lifter before driving

to the meet. All the usual, weigh in (110,55 kg), eating, coffee, more coffee, warmup. While girlfriend

did her competition.

We had a teammate help her with her shirt, since I needed to do my warmup meanwhile, she touched 90 kg

easy, out previous plan was to start her at 105. We went down to 95 kg, since she just needed any lift

to win the class.

95 3-0 easy
100 3-0 easy
107,5 3-0 still easy

She could have gotten a lot more on the day, but she improved her meet PR by 27,5 kgs, so she will just

be even better for her next meet.

My warmup went fine, something like
2 set x bar
2 set x 50 kg
2 set x 80 kg
3x100
1x120
Shirt on
2x190 high board
1x205 lower board

Everything felt fine, a little nerves, always have a little nerves before the first lift.

220 3-0

https://youtu.be/IMT8jdJURws

Got stuck on the way down, but I know a way to make it touch

230 3-0

https://youtu.be/i6-fe7g-CVA

Great, great drive off the chest, but a little to much speed backwards towards the head, so had to stop

it before locking it out.

235 3-0

https://youtu.be/5sIdcExq7Lo

Cant remember much, got to work some for the lockout.

Meet PR by 32,5 kg. Training PR by 5 kg

Winner benched 270 kg, he weighed in at 119,7 so give it a year and some gains and I should have a

chance to catch up.

I later found out that the national elite requirement here is 242,5 kg in the -120 class. That means

you can be considered for the national team, so that is something to aim for at nationals late November

this year.

We won the team competition with 2 other lifters, one did 220 at 98 kg bw, the other 180 at 92 kg.

Nice post. Is 235 your meet pr? That would make both our meet PRs the same in similar shirts (although I was wearing a size 50 - my upper body is pretty big for my weight).

Yes, or well gym PR is actually only 232,5, but I guess meet PR count as both, so 235 is both meet and training PR.
