Metric jealousy ITT.

So I was debating with a friend the other day while we were watching Jersey Shore about how much the guys can lift. I said I would be surprised if Situation and Ronnie couldn't bench press 300 lbs given their size and the fact that they hit the gym like every day and likely juice. He was saying that even though they look muscular, that doesn't necessarily mean they are particularly strong, especially since they are short. What do you guys think? (don't lie you know you've watched it)

I watched 5min of the 1st ep of the new season the other day, only bit I've ever seen. There was a bigass guido who could easily bench 400lb yelling at some bitch.

also, the height thing can work in their favor, shorter arms with a big chess = small ROM

Ronnie 300 easy. Situation 50/50. I hate that show so much.

Probability either of them juices?

Neither look that unnatural. Low?

They probably both have a ridiculously stupid stack though.

**** the haters, Jersey Shore's the greatest.

There was one episode back in Season 1 on GTL, where they show Situation doing the chest press machine, so I'm not sure how well that carries over to benching. However, they also showed him randomly kicking a punching bag, so they may just have been asking him to do random poses.

Oh, and according to googles he's got a workout DVD coming out

Situation's arms look disproportionately big to me, I always thought he was probably on roids. Agree that ronnie looks natural, but I honestly wouldn't really know.

def. on roids

I've never been to Jersey but I'm wondering if those characters are pretty accurate.

Recent CF Games affliate challenge had a team from Jersey (CF Montcon). Look for the guys in dark gray with a red star. Even the announcer calls them monsters:

CF Games affiliate challenge-Jersey guys in the 1st 5:00 before the workout starts

Guidos/Guidettes doing CF on roids.

I can't watch this. My life would be complete and I'd move to a higher plane instantly.

What then?

Uh probably the fact that his eye apparently exploded mid lift?

it's actually not too far from reality and is pretty accurate.

I do think ronnie is on roids though

I'm from the Jersey shore.

These people exist. They come from north Jersey (anything north of and including Old Bridge) and the ****ty parts of NY (Staten Island esp). Only one person on the show is actually from Jersey and she's the most normal one. Roids are particularly rampant in the region, especially among cops.

Most of the Shore is very nice. We've had to sacrifice some areas to that certain element - the one that favors white pants and spend most of their day complaining about the moolies.

In other news, my new belt has fixed all my squat issues and ECA works. I've quadrupled my beer intake yet my waist is still getting smaller.

****ing guidos were really at their apex of annoying when the Sopranos first hit and everyone walked around pretending they're ****ing connected.
08-05-2010 , 02:58 PM
I was just telling my friend the other day I'm glad I don't live on the east coast because I don't think I would get along with anyone.

I of course was only referring to the places with high levels of those guidos/tough guys/ etc.

(I think there would be a lot of sweet east coast places to live fwiw)

Here is your jersey shore answer.

Watch the 'Do Not Drop The Dumbbells' clip.

I'm pretty sure the edited it so when he struggles with the 225 for 8 reps he is only doing 135. But I could be wrong.

Even if it is 225, he has no ROM at all. Seriously doubt he can do 300 based on that clip.
