instructions are in Spanish so I have no clue about dosage...lemme know what you all recommend. Took some today for the first time after lifting.

5g a day. that's it and that's all.

I would take 10g on workout days. 5g before, 5g after. 5g on nonworkout days. Gotta be sure there is enough in the body when a $500 bet vs aejones is on the line.

The 5g before workout is key because of placebo effect.

For some reason it didn't come with a scoop or anything to measure 5g with, so I'm just having a few small spoonfuls each day for now.

set #3 from yesterday

Not the best form-wise. I was getting a bit tired, and my last 2 reps in particular it looks like I need to keep shoulders back/head up more. I also hate how that rocking thing that I do in between reps looks, but at this point its fully ingrained into my routine.

Assani,

A moderately heaped teaspoon is going to be around 5g, to give you an idea.

On workout days, does it actually help to take it before the workout?

This is what I do. Lyle says that the idea of a loading phase to get to full saturation isn't total bunk. So 5g before lift and 5g after lift for a few weeks while levels build up, then just 5g after lift to maintain levels.

Also there's a lot of conflicting advice on whether it has to be fully dissolved in water in order for it to work. Anecdotally, I've done the plain old monohydrate in a shot of cold water and it seriously ****s up my poops and causes intestinal bloating which I figure cannot be good for efficacy. I prefer to fully dissolve it in something hot before my workout, then throw that in the fridge to consume after my workout. Creatine gradually normalizes to creatinine when it is left in water, but it takes awhile so leaving it dissolved for a few hours is fine.

f*cking Mexican President's Day....was up at 7:30, spent all morning foam rolling and preparing mentally for the lift- then I get there and its closed. Super tilted, have had 2 days off and am ready to lift RIGHT NOW.

Ouch. What will this do to your schedule?

theres a PLO8 FTOPS tomorrow at 8:00am, so I'm gonna get up to play that. The regular gym hours are 9am-1pm and 3pm-9pm. So depending on when I finish that I'll go. Will lift Tues/Thurs/Sat this week and Tues/Thurs next week.

change of plans....gonna just go Wed/Fri this week, and then finish the bet by going Mon/Wed/Fri next week. I'd much prefer not lifting on Saturdays due to online MTTs. If I can get 5x5x325 successfully then I'll probably continue to do 5x5s until I stall(although I probably will stop eating at such a surplus once the bet is over)

seems like a void proposition imo (assuming AE agreed to allow this).

eh, idc, he just has to do it by the end of the week. i wouldn't have allowed it if he was already going to go to fridy and wanted the two days off before monday.

poker has to be >>> this bet, so for random things like the gym being closed for a Mexican holiday I can't rework my schedule if it interferes with poker. Aaron understands this, and we're reasonable enough that stuff like this isn't an issue.

did 5x5x305 today...tough, but nothing crazy.

On bench did 1x5x250, 1x3x250, 1x12x205...was gonna try 3x5x250 but got tired and didn't wanna push myself too hard and have it interfere with my ability to recover for squats.

Yeah I get that. Not saying you're angling, but part of the difficulty of this is the rollover of fatigue from one session to the next. Throwing a 4 day break in there is a big help.

It looked like you were gonna get there pretty easy anyway.

What is the primary taste of that shake? Apples and grapes I hope

The kale is the strongest flavor. The trick is to add just enough fruit to sweeten it enough so that you don't mind the taste. Then you can gradually ease back on the amount of fruit as your taste buds adapt. For some this may mean starting out with 90% fruit/10% kale.

Its funny how you find random bits of motivation for each workout when you're pushing yourself through tough periods of lifting....

On Wednesday I had just watched a bunch of Chael Sonnen youtube clips, and there was one thing in particular that stayed with me- leading into his 2nd fight with Anderson Silva, a reporter asked Chael if he was tired/injured at all and Chael responded something like "I'm tired, injured, unmotivated, undertrained....and I'm still tough enough to kick this guy's ass." And so when I went to the gym that day the idea of "I'm tired, sore, exhausted...yet still tough enough to crush this workout" kept running through my head.

Yesterday I saw this clip posted in the impressive lifts thread:

and I can't get it out of my head. I just love his WIM for the last few reps so much...will probably have this in mind as I lift today.

Not feeling the kale plan so much (though agree much alleviated by grapes/apples, but why not just more grapes and no apples?) but def love the Assani (2 cranberry vod).. best drink ever! (/end youtube creeping)

5x5x310 today was way tougher than previous workouts. For the first time, after a set or two I wasn't super confident that I was going to get the rest. But somehow set #4 was the best of the bunch, and that gave me enough confidence to not even take the full time in between sets before set #5. Pretty exhausted though.

Threw in some random pullups and curls at the end, but nothing challenging at all.

Also, if you needed proof that I'm getting fat, this was a result of today's squatting:
