I see what you're saying and I'd like you to consider the following:

The gym is not buys during most of it's open hours.

How would you compare those to your training sessions that occur later in the day?

I can't be assed to lift before 10am. Just can't do it.

I lift from 12:00-1:00, hopefully that means my T levels are on the uptick; there's no other option for me, because I wouldn't be able to fit it in otherwise.

Yes. Infant lifter tho, so please always feel free to make comments or suggestions. I have learned a lot from H&F since I started here. Mostly that loco is full of ****, but many lessons about fitness, too

This. I can wait until maybe 2pm, but any later than that and the people really start to pack in. Glass is half full, I guess, since it's great to see so many people in my city dedicated to going to the gym.

Do You Need To Stop Lifting In The Morning?

Cliffs:
-body temperature lower in the morning means stiff/sore muscles which lead to injury
-elevated cortisol + low T in AM; low cortisol + increased T in PM
-and dat spinal fluid stuff we were already told about
The cortisol/test. ratio probably explains why I never feel like being active early in the day, and feel stronger later in the day. Its good to know that's not all just in my head.

Good article/post.

Yeah I usually go at around 10am and today I couldn't, went down there 45mins ago and it was packed, I said screw it and left, going to go later. Still in general tho besides the fact that it's emptier early the longer I wait to go the lazier I get, plus I feel good after lifting and would like to have that throughout my day

I'm pretty bad about exercising when I wake up.

I'm usually lifting within 1-2 hours of being awake, many times I'm at the court playing ball after being awake less than an hour.

I'm about to start lifting now and haven't been awake for 2 hours.

Doesn't really fit in my schedule anywhere else tho. Shrug
04-10-2013 , 06:00 PM
4-5pm is just about optimal for me. Even on weekends I don't really ever want to lift before 3pm.

I had read that Test is highest, not lowest, in the morning. Throughout the day it tapers off.
04-10-2013 , 06:16 PM
I work out at lunch, usually 3-4p but low test at any time of day is pretty much off the table.

Some of us actually need an open rack at the gym - we don't just up the dose and go to one of the open leg press machines.

But seriously, lifting in the morning is awful. Cardiotarding in the morning I will do sometimes for convenience sake or due to scheduling. But lifting....ugh.

Lol. One of these days I will figure out if you actually have no respect for loco or you have 10% respect or 90% respect.

I think H&F could fill a log just with you posting this one. I know it's hard that Busto gets all the glory for dat back but I do think we all realize that you are the proud owner of lat city II, the reckoning. You just need to update your log more and lament your thinspiration aspirations.

Hey all. I posted this in the beginner's thread but didn't get any bites. Was just curious about chins--I can get 3 solid sets of 6 in but was shooting for 3x10. Instead of switching to something like lat pulldowns to hit my reps, can I just continue to do more sets with reps of 4,3, ect., until I hit 30 total chins?
04-10-2013 , 06:55 PM
I'd focus on doing negative pull-ups until you can hit that 3x10, as going for 4,3, ect is going to turn into a hard 1-rep very quickly.
04-10-2013 , 06:56 PM
can you do 10 sets of 3?

^ I disagree. If he's staying below his max he should be able to crank out quite a bit of sets. If it turns into singles, he knows to do less reps/set next time.

If you can do 3x6 pretty solid, maybe start with 4-5x4-5 and just try to slowly work it up.

I think doing chins is the best way to improve chins.

Shrog,

Just learn how to kip and your number will increase to infinity.

I keed, I keed. But if you're having trouble on hitting the last pullups in a set of ten, I would suggest you consider adding kips for the final four, then progressively increasing the amount of clean pullups until kipping is history.

Ok I edited my 1 on 1 games to make me look better.

But no editing can hide how bad/spazzy I am at dribbling. It's unreal.

Anyway:

Sick basket at :40.

Which one are you, Johnny?

Obv the only one scoring in the video.

I made more baskets in the games but he ran hot from the arc so he made a number of big 3s to end both games
