BJ's has boneless, skinless chicken breast for $2/lb at all times and it comes in ready-to-freeze packaging. I picked up a bone-in pork shoulder today for $0.99/lb. They also sell large sections of dead cow if you want to do your own butchering.
If someone's truly a nit about frozen meat, you can always brine it before freezing to counteract the moisture loss in freezing.

Poor people are given food stamps and food stamps cannot be used for hot food. From what I understand, obtaining food stamps as an illegal is not difficult.
That whole section of Food, Inc. made my head hurt. After the second or third blatant contradiction I just checked out and waited for the nutty farmer to reappear. I had no idea what the point of the fast food aside was.
