ha, ok. I live in the Washington DC area. The commerical was a slick one (Michael Buffer did some of the narration), so I'm guessing it was made for nationwide airing.

BTW what is your screen name at BE?

It's my real name, Mike Fagan.

As Mikey said...Vegas is a wayyyyyyyyy different fight culture. Only MMA fight I've been to live was Liddell/Couture 3 in Feb. 2006. I paid over $100 to be in 4th level or whatever it was at Mandalay Bay. Decent seat and everyone's willing to pay to be seen!

I never understood why nobody goes to the prelims. I remember the arena was practically empty for Castillo-Corrales I and it was the friggin fight of the century.

Holy ****. I thought they were just two ******s and I didn't get what the picture was about. That's hilarious/awesome.

LOL at the bucket of Mega Mass...my roomies in college that worked out a lot drank that stuff everyday. I never went into the can after them without a match, can of air freshner, and my shirt covering my mouth!

They'd always laugh...

I'm gonna now have a bad dream tonight about Mega Mass and the scene in the new Will Ferrell movie "Step Brothers"...you know the scene in the commercial where John C. Reilly gives Will a Dutch Oven and Will responds with:

"That smells like a dead raccoon, stuffed with ricotta cheese"!

Very similar scent IMO!

MMA must be losing popularity... no posts here for more than 24hrs... wow.
07-11-2008 , 09:17 PM
so it really was just a fad after all
07-11-2008 , 09:23 PM
Yeah I completely jumped off the bandwagon. Assumed everyone else did too. Back to boxing imo.
07-11-2008 , 09:51 PM
Klitschko > Fedor imo
07-11-2008 , 10:12 PM
I've been stuck in the bathroom for the last few hours with Mega Mass 2000 ****s.

Odds on how many times Kimbo is shown on camera during EXC show in 2 weeks?

Odds on how many times I scream at my TV because Gus Johnson is a tool of an MMA announcer?

Odds on ratings it will grab?
07-12-2008 , 12:39 AM
Gus Johnson is fine as an MMA announcer, imo
07-12-2008 , 12:42 AM
I like Gus also..Maybe I am partial to him from his announcing in other sports. But for a first time guy he did pretty well. I mean if you are going to have a guy yelling, I would rather it be him then either Goldberg..
07-12-2008 , 01:07 AM
I was a little harsh about Gus now that read it back...I just think there was certain spots in which he should have let Mauro lead the play by play...but I think he pukes a little too much. He wasn't that bad for the 1st time, but in spots...I was like STFU!

Sherdog is streaming Fury FC tonight for free. Supposedly it's a very good Brazilian local promotion that has produced UFC and DREAM fighters.
07-12-2008 , 06:10 PM
it seems baroni can still throw decent shots
07-12-2008 , 06:26 PM
Whew..That makes my drafting him like 5% less stupid..
07-12-2008 , 06:41 PM
