155 is deep, and I'm getting the future UFC champ. I see LF screaming how Griffin was the best LW and BFA Frankie Edgar says whats up.
Haha wow, talk about slept on. How does a guy who is fighting for a title tomorrow get picked in round 8. Great pick.

Haha my head just exploded. I had the spreadsheet of all the picks up, and it magically just updated in front of me. Good work LF.

Round 8- Pick 7

Michael Bisping

I used to be a big bisping hater but he's actually looked good in his last 2 fights, despite losing a thin decision to Wanderlei. He's only going to get better in the near future and still offers some competitive matchups.

HW: Junior Dos Santos, Brett Rogers, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria
LHW: (Anderson Silva), Rich Franklin
MW: Anderson Silva, (Rich Franklin), (Jake Shields), Michael Bisping
WW: Jake Shields
LW: Kenny Florian

lol thin decision

insanely questionable even this moderately late!

round 8 pick 8:

people have been really loosely throwing around the term BFA, but man i have actually taken the BFA with this pick. Cruz is currently the top 135 pound fighter in the world and has defeated the 2nd and 3rd ranked 135s in his last 2 fights. He has only one loss in his career which was at 145 pounds to urijah faber. And he has fought there in 2008 so not only will he anchor my 135 pound division but he can also fight at 145 and attempt to avenge his only defeat to faber in the future in a massive superfight.

round 9, pick 1:

the 155 pound dream lightweight grand prix champion recently moved down to 145 pounds so he is viable for both divisions. hes an exciting fighter (with arguably the best fight of 2008 against another of my fighters eddie alvarez) that is dangerous on both the feet and the ground. his wrestling has been a bit of a weakness for him lately, but unless you are a monsterous bjj black belt like aoki it doesnt even matter (and might not matter anyway if you are!) cause he can finish on the ground with either his massive gnp or his slick submissions.

look for him to compete in both the 145 pound ranks and the 155 pound ranks.

my organization:
ww: koscheck, alves,daley, (bj/alvarez)
lw: bj, alvarez, melendez, (hansen)
fw: faber, hansen, (cruz)
bw: cruz

Round 9- Pick 2

Ryan Bader

The winner of TUF 8 and a strong up-and-comer, Bader has everything needed to be a force in the division soon. When we look back on the draft in a year this pick is going to be such a steal imo.

HW: Junior Dos Santos, Brett Rogers, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria
LHW: (Anderson Silva), Rich Franklin, Ryan Bader
MW: Anderson Silva, (Rich Franklin), (Jake Shields),Michael Bisping
WW: Jake Shields
LW: Kenny Florian

now I have to do some major sweating for the next 10 picks
04-09-2010 , 05:28 PM
a year lol!

in 2 weeks after melendez mauls aoki and faber regains his FW crown i will have 3 top 8 170s, 3 top 5 155s including #1, the top 145 and the top 135. gg world!

good picks daut, everyone seems to be ignoring the sub lightweights

Round 9 Pick 3-Gesias "JZ" Cavalcante

This guy is extremely underrated right now because he hasn't fought in a while due to injury. He was recognized as a top 5 lightweight for a longtime before that and is insanely exciting.

HW-Fedor, Cain Velasquez, Frank Mir, Andrei Arlovski
MW-Hendo, Chael Sonnen, Akiyama
LW-Edgar, JZ

i really don't like the way Hansen has looked since his long layoff due to his mysterious head injury. he really seems to have lost a good deal of body mass and i think his move to 145 might be a result of this weight loss rather than the weight loss being the result of a desire to move down.

Round 9 Pick 4: Marius "The Whitemare" Zaromskis

If their is one thing we learned about Marius during the fight he had with Nick Diaz, it is that Marius is ****ing exciting win or lose. The guy may not be a top 10 yet, but he puts on a hell of a show no matter who he fights, and is one of the more exciting WW prospects right now. He may of been a tad over hyped, but you would be lying if you didn't think he was exciting and he is still young and getting better.

Fighting because you haven't been crushed by the champ yet, isn't very reassuring.

We're finally getting into the portion of the draft that I think will be the most interesting. Seeing how things look in a year should be fun.

Round 9: Pick 5
Jorge Santiago

Jorge Santiago is one of few fighters that is truly a threat to end a fight both by KO and submission. He is a dynamic striker who uses a wide variety of techniques and also very aggressive on the ground with his strong jiu-jitsu game. Although he recently had a 9-fight win streak broken he was able to avenge his first loss since 2006 in his very next fight.

HW: Brock Lesnar, Alistair Overeem, Fabricio Werdum
MW: Nate Marquardt, Demian Maia, Melvin Manhoef, Jorge Santiago
LW: Shinya Aoki, Diego Sanchez
