I actually really like the Edge too. So it's not wrong.

I think it means you prefer very strong cigars. Next up, have a Tatuaje La Riqueza!

I think my local cigar shop humidor sucks.

Because the Edges I get from the cigar and liquor superstore are really "moist" and smooth smokes. And the 90, 92's are just dry.

FYI - I give all of the stogies a little pinch before I am sure I'll buy them. Nothing too hard that could crack the wrapper, but enough to gain a feel for what is humidified and what is too dry.

My favorite smoke shop (which isn't Leavitt and Peirce, incidentally) has a drying out issue once cigars have been there too long, such as the more expensive Padron lines. This leads to the situation where they have a stock highly desirable smokes that have sat long enough that they are below my level of acceptance and I cannot bring myself to buy them.

Some brothers of the leaf will buy those anyway and just rehumidify at home over a few months. I am not one of those people.

Yeah. The 92 I had was perfect. I think some cigar stores do not get cigars optimally humidified before selling them so it may be where they sourced the cigars from. Drop it in a humidor for a while while enjoying some edges and in a week or two you should have a good 90 or 92 to smoke.

Smoked a Rockey Patel "Patel Bros." cigar yesterday. It was a delicious maduro style torpedo. Of my RP's that I have smoked so far it was on par if not slightly better than the Vintage 1992 and my new favorite from a cost and quality standpoint. The wrapper was very oily and dark and it smoked well the whole way through. Very consistent and very long ash.

I agree I had one last week and it was awesome.

I also had an Olivia V and it was great for a medium cigar. Lasted nearly 2 1/2 hours.

I have had a couple of the Olivia lines and like them very much.

Also, one of my cigar-of-the-month packs from Cigars International came with a Cuba Libre. Nice medium-to-full cigar, box pressed and very reasonably priced. Bought a box of them recently and am very satisfied. Y'all might want to check them out.

I am not sure if I've ever had a better smoke than the Ashton ESG, maybe the Patron 1926 I had during the super bowl in vegas but that was probably situationally influenced.

In terms of cheap every day cigars, Cigar.com has some very nice house label cigars that are actually pretty tasty and quite cheap. I really like Carlos Torano for a slight upcharge in price and in between Ashton and the CT my favorites have to be the Camacho Corojo or Tatuaje Havana.

The Camacho Corojo may very well be my favorite overall cigar considering price and quality.

They're either seconds, or he's taking a loss on that one product to get talked about.

I can't believe what a good smoke it is, though. I find it hard to believe that they would be seconds.

I was gonna buy a Padron 80th Anniversary in the Las Vegas airport but it was $50 for one lol

In LV check out Pheasant Cigars, on West Sahara right across from Palace Station. Good guys, nice lounge, decent prices for Vegas, way cheaper than casinos.

I just tried the Patel Bros last night and while I thought it was a great cigar (perhaps equal or second to the vintage 92), it ****ed me up terribly. I'm not sure if I smoked it too fast, or, if its stronger than the 92, but twenty minutes later I was dizzy, had to go to bed, felt terrible, etc. Sort of ruined the night, lol. But I enjoyed it while smoking...

Speaking of strong cigars I just picked up some Olivia "Cain F" torpedo's they are supposed to be on the strong end of the cigar spectrum.

Anyone have any experience with them?

Hellaciously good smoke. I had one on the way home from my initial sommelier exam and couldn't have been happier. Not a cheap stick by any means, but definitely delivers.

If you get a sour stomach or start feeling f-ed up eat some sugar. A little chocolate or something. This is usually due to the fact that you have ingested too much nicotine and need to dilate blood vessels that have contracted to slow the uptake of nicotine.

When I have a Rocky Patel Java, I usually smoke it with a starbucks vanilla energy drink. Fantastic!

Those Olivia Cain F cigars are pretty awesome. I think I am only smoking torpedoes from now on.
