Just read something that said Sony is gonna showcase the NEO Sept 7th in NY.

Buying a ps4 soon. Is there any reason I should wait? (Expected price drops before black Friday, ect?)

I've been waiting since the spring so it's not going to kill me to wait a couple more months if it's worth it.

Yeah the new upgraded model "Neo" is suspected to be announced in a month, unconfirmed as yet but it's imminent and has to happen soon.

I should sell you mine. Been gathering dust for a year now aside from hopping on to add the PS Plus games to my library and be disappointed when I already have it or passed on it on PC. But one day maybe I'll muster up the patience to sit through Bloodborne's ridiculous load times..

As far as we know, the Neo (and now obviously the Slim) will be officially announced and talked about on the 7th. Maybe the Slim available immediately, since retail boxes are in the wild already. Neo price and release unknown AFAIK - wouldn't be surprised at $399, though that would be the absolute lowest guess.

Saw it on a few sites. I thought it was nuts but I think I saw it on at least one reputable site. Not able to find it atm tho.

How much was the PS4 at launch? Can't remember if I paid $500 or $400 lol getting old.

$399, that was just the console tho there were bundles with a couple games, extra controller etc for $500 too.

I just preordered "Watch Dogs 2", using an Amazon Prime 20% discount, for the Xbox One because I could not gamble on the NEO being out before mid-November. However, for "For Honor", which comes out in February 2017, a NEO must surely be out by then.

preordering watch dogs 2 is certainly a bold move

PS plus price increasing, think that's a deal breaker for me. I barely play any of the games as is.

I bought Watch Dogs not longer after I got my PS4 (November 2014) but after the intro mission, I dove head first into Factions and never looked at it again. Not sure about WD2.

There's a game coming out in October called the Last Guardian, which I would strongly advise everyone to check out. It's been in development hell for seemingly a decade. It's coming from the team that made Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on PS2.

I never played Ico but Shadow of the Colossus was a masterpiece. As best I can tell Last Guardian seems to be more in the spirit of Ico but I'm sure it will have it's own spirit.

If you haven't played Shadow of the Colossus you def. should. It will take you a bit to get used to the old PS2 graphics and controls, but it's an amazing game. They did an HD remake of it on PS3 so that might also help. A very real contender for best video game soundtrack of all time.

Yeah PS+ has been kind of a bummer on the PS4, there have been good games and all but a lot of filler, probably won't renew when mine runs out unless they drop a few hot games over the next couple of months.

PS+ has been decent value for me, I'd probably continue to pay it even if it weren't required for online. That said I do have a Vita also so I make use of the free games there too (or could if I played the thing much). I'm expecting Vita games to change to PSVR experiences but who knows, maybe PSVR will be added titles or maybe nothing at all. I don't think there's been a year so far where savings from PS+ haven't exceeded the cost of PS+ for me.

The Last Guardian will be spectacular!!!!
