all those guns are actually pretty good minus the uzi. the rest of them have their special uses. The uzi is prob just bad though. The ak74u is also pretty bad because it has a larger spray pattern and more recoil than the mp5 but is otherwise identical. The only gun that seems really unbalanced is the M16. It just doe everything really well, but at the same time it doesn't excel at any one thing like the other guns that can be better in specialized situations.

The AK47 is also pretty good but i'm just not that great with it.

Other guns like the r700, shotgun, scorpion, g36 can be best in certain situations because they are so specialized.

Just got the golden shotty and I have to say, using a shotgun can make for some thrilling encounters. Now to finish off the G3 and MP44 and I'll have all the goldies.

That's the thing they are all pretty good but you're always handicapping yourself by using them. If the player skills are the same the G3/G36/M4 will always get owned by the M16/AK player. Same with the SAW vs. RPD and MP5 vs. the other SMG's. I guess it's probably about as good as balanced as it can be though and still have some variety between the weapons. The R700 is all around fail, it holds 4 bullets, has more sway than the other snipers when you're not holding your breath, and does no more damage to compensate.

I'm not really worried about the guns as much as how the perks may be arranged. We'll have to see but allowing sleight of hand with stopping power seems like it will be a very common/overpowered set up. Just depends on how they set it all up.

With the silenced snipers they could do something like take up a perk slot like the grip does on the LMG's.

In hardcore all the snipers are 1 shot kills. I use the m21 because its semi-auto and has the least recoil.

When I used to play standard matches, I used the mp5 with a sliencer. Now like I said I use m4 red dot most of the time, with some m21/m16/mp5 as well.

The last coup of days I have been using the rpg perk and it is alot of fun. Vacant is the best map for it. I never tried it on killhouse or shipment yet but imagine those would be good as well. The only other maps it really works on is Wet Work and Showdown.

I got to say I really dislike most of the maps in cod4, the map pack especially. I hate overgrown, crossfire, bloc and ambush. My favorite maps are Downpour and Vacant. Hopefilly mw2 will have some sick maps.

Yes and no.

g36 is actually really good. it's better than the m16 for spraying close up and better than the AK47 at range. The AK47 is actually only more powerful without the red dot or silencer otherwise it does the same damage with higher recoil.

The is actually pretty overpowered but one of the other guns does 50damage per bullet so it kills with two bullets w/out stopping power freeing up a perk slot.

The p90 is actually pretty good alternative to the mp5. it fires a bit slower but has a much larger magazine and comes with more ammo. this combined with the fact that it fires faster makes up for the fact that it does less damage.

I do agree that some guns are garbage like the ak74u. obv far inferior to other guns for multiple reasons. I think this was done to make it tougher to get the golden guns and even the playing field out a bit for the newbs.

Basically it's not easy to make so many guns make them all different and make them all balanced. some guns are however intentionally worse to make things more challenging for the player who are trying for golden guns and other achievements.

well it's extreamly bad compared to the mp5 because it's hip fire spray is much much larger.

with no attachments all the SMGs have the same hip fire spread...and the ak74u actually has less recoil than the mp5, it also has assault rifle bullet penetration. but the ak74 also has idling and that damn increased hip fire spread when using a silencer or red dot

and the mp44 is just a huge example of how they purposely put underpowered guns into the game.

otherwise it would be way too easy to get the golden AK imo.

for an aggressive player, AK > everything i think. m16 fires too slow. the iron sights are the AK are the sex

predator looked fun but not too effective........looks like most of the time you will only get one kill with it (unless a bunch of noobs are stuck together) and I think you lose too much time running to find somewhere safe to do it for only one kill......

Could be decent for capture the flag or headquarters. That's why there are custom kill streaks you don't have to use the predator missile at all if you don't want to.

If predator missiles allow you to target an enemy even without UAV, like they should, then they should be supremely useful. I know I've wasted so many airstrikes being forced to call them down when not having a precise idea where the enemy is. Not to mention all the misses you get because of the crappy angles they take.

if you engage the airstrike but get killed before you pull the trigger you lose it, no? i.e. you get capped when the map is up

the predator will be much longer than picking a spot on a map
