what exactly do the riot shields do?


can you plant them in the ground like GoW2?


or do you just pick up a flag and just walk around with a giant shield?



but really, a shield isn't going to be much defense against me, since I'm going to be shooting you in the back with a shotgun

i watched through them, i just don't remember seeing them do anything

they provide protection obv. You can melee with them but not shoot.

apparently you can melee behind the riot shield and there is a perk to extend the melee range. this could be a pretty sick combo class used kind of like the shotgun class is now.

Whey suppressing a weapon on Modern Warfare affected damage, so I don't see any reason why it wouldn't in MW2.

There is usually way more camping going on it HC and way more sniping. And the rifles are a one hit kill always, so you can combine them with camouflage / uav jammer, dead silence etc. So if on top of that you now can't even hear them any more, that would be awful, I guess. There is no penalty for missing and you don't have to reposition yourself after a shot.
In none-HC, you would obv. get rid of showing up on the radar, but that's about it. You can probably achieve that already with the uav jammer. In most games people are running around way more so that it's harder to get in a decent sniping position anyway, imo.

Either way, SnD will become even more annoying with silenced snipers.

If you put a suppressor on a sniper rifle the range better be lowered precipitously (sub sonic ammunition and all that). I doubt that's gonna happen, because it's a video game, but silencing sniper rifles in MW:2 seems weaksauce

I'm not liking this proposition one bit. The last thing we want is more camping.

They have to do something though to make sniper rifles more of a viable option. It gets a bit dull when everyone just uses the same class because its impossible to compete otherwise.

There are lots of people on COD4 who run and gun with sniper rifles pretty well.
I would hate to see any game rewarding campers because they are subhuman scum.
