I just realized that AMIDST contains the seed number of my primary world.

So I thought it be interesting to see what the world looked like before I started it.

(Yes, I went to creative mode to take the photo of my current world, but I used survival mode for like 99% of the world.)

Quick tour: although there's a house on the right of the photo, I almost never use it. My main base of operations is in the cave to the left, by the tower. As you can see in the before picture, it was open to the world before. But I got tired of waking up, opening the door, and finding a creeper or spider right outside, so I closed it up. Next to the cave is my chicken farm (there are chickens there, they just didn't show up), followed by two wheat farms, a pig farm, a sugar farm (with pistons for harvesting). Next to the sugar farm, but not visible, is a cocoa bean farm. The tower was built so I could find my base, before I discovered F3 coordinates.

Nice. Your mob spawning tower looks a lot like that of Ethos. Can't ghasts shoot through your glass ceiling of the railway? I assume it was survival mode?

Yes survival, and no ghasts can not see you through glass. Mob spawner was ethos design.

Anyone else playing the 1.4 prerelease? For those who didn't know they "pre-released" 1.4 meaning they aren't adding anything new to the official release just fixing bugs.

I started playing a new world yesterday and its so awesome, they've made the game harder in survival for sure, mobs will chase you down a lot easier now. I also think they improved underground cave systems, making them larger. I found a double crossed ravine that was so sick.

And then obviously the new features are great. Bats, witches, anvils for repairing, item frames to make it easier to sort your stuff, and now sometimes mobs wear armor. I found a skeleton that had full leather armor on, also sometimes zombies have villager faces as if they were once villagers that got infected, they've done a lot of good stuff yall should check it out.

yea im very excited for 1.4. My current base is kinda a let down compared to what i had imagined before starting it. Considering starting over once the patch hits.

I heard that mobs will be able to go through portals now. Kind of sucks that my portal is right in the middle of my base. I might have to start over just because, once you've beaten the dragon, there's nothing else to do except build so might as well build from scratch on a new world. I mean, right now, my only planned projects are improving existing things in my world. Exploring and fighting mobs isn't even a challenge any more now that I have diamond+protection armor and diamond+sharpness swords.

But I'm not sure. I also play the Xbox version with my daughter and restarted that world already. Not sure I want to have two fairly new worlds.

Does this mean that 1.4 is any day now? For 1.3.2, the pre-release was released only 2 days before the official release.

EDIT: Completely forgot about the new boss. I guess I'll stay with my current world until I beat the wither. He looks like he's a lot tougher than the dragon.

News update: 1.4 has already been patched. Official release date of 1.4.1 will be Thursday.

There are no wither skeletons in my nether fortress. Are they a rare mob? Like enderman in the overworld? Or do I have to go to a fortress I haven't been to before.

Maybe the lighting is strange in your fortress, apparently Wither Skeletons spawn or don't spawn due to light level: they follow the same spawning conditions as naturally spawning Blazes: light level 11 or less where their lower half will be.

Been funny combating armored skeletons, feels weird.

I finally found a few wither skeletons. But they are relatively rare.

1.4.2 seems to crash a lot more than 1.3.2 did. Well, 1.3.2 almost never crashed. 1.4.2 crashes almost every time I go to the nether.

Only have one wither skull so far. Seems like it'll take a while before I get the three I need to fight the wither.

Dude I don't have any and I've killed like 20 of them, need to run good on some enchantments and get Looting III, been running really hot in the diamond department though.

My dad owns various servers and he already said I could use one to set up a minecraft server if I wanted to. Unfortunately, I'm a poor college student and I haven't bought minecraft, I downloaded a ripped version for my single player fun and I'm waiting until Christmas I guess until I'm able to play multiplayer. Until then, I'm not able to play multiplayer, as much as I want to do that =/

There is a way to host a server via your own computer it's just a bit tricky as most internet companies don't allow others to connect to your internet via minecraft due to security issues. However, if you do what's called "portforwarding," which allows outside connections to connect to yours, it will work.

It's kinda complicated but not too bad. Either way I'm going to be setting up a server for sure once I get a legit minecraft, a survival multiplayer server would be so cool.

The anvil makes getting the enchantments you want so much easier. As soon as you get a single weapon/tool with the enchantments you want, you just use the anvil to make another weapon/tool with you enchantments. I don't know how many bows I made before I finally got a power/infinity one. But this time, I just used the anvil to create another one.

Would anyone be up for a skype 2p2 minecraft group? I'm reasonably new to the game, I know all the basics but would be up for just talking MC with people when not playing poker, would be good for when we get a server running as well!

Ugh, so pissed off. I had just spent a bunch of time redoing lots of my base and went to my enderman farm. All of a sudden, I accidentally chose an ender pearl while I was killing the enderman and threw it off the edge. I was thinking that I had mainly emptied my inventory and didn't lose a lot. Then I checked again. I did empty my inventory . . . except for my fully enchanted diamond sword, fully enchanted diamond pick axe, and fully enchanted diamond axe. I have a backup save, but its from a few days ago.

Odd thing was, I had a youtube video on in the background. It was xisuma, complaining that he had just lost all of his equipment when he died. I thought to myself, "well, I should backup my save file." Then I decided to wait until I got my XP up at the farm. D'oh!

I really should check all my chests before I start crafting. Turns out I have a spare enchanted diamond sword, but I already wasted two diamonds crafting a new one.

EDIT: That was lucky. Got efficiency 4, unbreaking 3, and fortune 3 in my pickaxe. My old one had efficiency 5, I think, but this will surely do.

I would hate to see how pissed I would be before I had my enderman farm. My zombie XP farm takes soooooooo long to get to level 30. My enderman farm gets me there in 5 or so minutes.

that reminds me of before i had my enderfarm, back when you had to go to level 50, i'd spend like an hour and a half at my skeleton farm to get to max level, get a bad enchant and you'd be pretty mad
